    child benefit anyway..
don't think you need to ask about it here, but figure it out yourself with the municipality or UWV or something similar. Every situation and every person is different. If you still live with your parents, I think you won't get anything because they can support you, but if you live on your own, you'll probably get some kind of subsidy. But again, you should check with your local municipality in your area.
    Good luck!

First of all, I want to say well done, 16 and a kid. I wouldn't have known how to handle it at 16 either! Respect.
If I were you, I'd go to the UWV. You can apply for benefits and stuff there. They'll be able to give you all the information.

Yeah, getting a benefit won't be easy. I also think you'd have to live on your own then. Maybe you can arrange something with an acquaintance there?

Are you getting student financial aid? Because you might be eligible for an additional parental contribution on top of that. Check out the IB-groep website.

    Good luck..

Yeah, I still live at home. We've also called a lot to the courts and the legal help desk. We're not getting much further. Not even with custody and the declaration of majority. It's all very expensive and I personally think it's a waste to put my money into that...

That's why I might just get married on a Monday at the town hall and all the hassle will be over. Then I'll have custody myself and no guardian will be needed

But I'll ask again about the allowance!

Anyway, thank you so much for your responses..

    Love

    @Sanne

Student finance only kicks in at 18, and my boyfriend does have it, but he doesn't live with me and our baby, so he doesn't get extra money. He'd only get it if we get married or if he registers his address to ours.

    Xx

    Hello Heart
Young people under 18 legally have no right to benefits. Some municipalities make exceptions and give young mothers a baby allowance.
A baby allowance is a monthly amount for the care of the baby. Usually about 200 euros per month. The money is intended for things like diapers and baby food.
If I were you, I would contact your municipality and ask on behalf of your baby what their rules are within the municipality. Lots of success.

    Greetings Melissa

I got my own at 15. My oldest is 24 now, and I heard there's now a "baby allowance" through the municipality (though that varies by municipality, of course). It's around €250, which is something at least. I worked weekends alongside my studies, off-the-books in hospitality, so that was €50 per evening, or €400 extra per month. Otherwise, you could maybe visit a social worker at your own municipality.
