Breastfeeding

Hi, I'm Kim and I'll be giving birth in 5 weeks.
But I've decided to breastfeed.
With my daughter 4 years ago it failed after 3 days.
My nipples were full of cracks and scabs, I'm curious what it will be like now.
Anyone has experience?

    Hi Kim,

I also chose breastfeeding, and in the beginning, our girl had an incorrect sucking technique she had already developed in the womb. She was already sucking on her hands in there, which left blisters on both her wrists... which meant I got cracks too! I used those Gelpatches that you have to keep in the fridge every time you breastfeed, and they helped me so much!! After about 2 days, the cracks were completely gone!! It really relieves the pain! And once our girl figured out the right technique, she no longer had any trouble with cracks! Now it's such a blissful feeling when she drinks, really enjoying my little girl!

I'll definitely check with the pharmacy if they have it.
Wow, that's already quite a regular pattern she has.
What makes me doubt is that my left breast is soft and milk is already coming out, while the right nipple is rough, not soft at all, like there's a small ball behind it. It's a bit tender and there's hardly any milk coming from it.

    Love, Kim

    Hi there,

I’m also breastfeeding and at first I got cracks on one side too. I have pretty flat nipples, so she had to latch on very often to get a good grip, but she’d often get angry and scream really loudly because it took so long... That’s why I’m using a nipple shield now. It protects against cracks and when she latches, she gets a good hold right away. Really ideal, you just have to have it with you in time, but I don’t mind!

Who knows, if it doesn’t work out or becomes too painful, you’ll always have another idea!

    Love, Hartje
