How do we find a birth card??

When I was pregnant with the first, I searched for my life like crazy!! I found nothing that I liked. In the end, I couldn't care less; I'd have had everyone write it on a post-it :-D

Don't stress too much about it and visit a printer. The internet isn't always cheaper! Take your time to get informed, and a whole world will open up for you... Relax, everything will be fine

I’d personally go for two different cards, one for a boy and one for a girl, but that’s because I’m not really into those neutral cards with white and beige
I’d also definitely check out flavourites.nl. They often feature design studios that develop birth announcements.
    Good luck!

    Hi!

I've now ordered my cards at https://geboortekaartjes.zelf-ontwerpen.nl/ and I'm very happy with the price-quality ratio.

    Have lots of fun designing!

Ooh thanks for all the replies! I'll check out the sites and I've actually already found something where you can just order 2 cards and then after the birth you can let them know which one it should be.
Hihi Mandy, I'm feeling a bit more relaxed now.. 't won't be a post-it but I've become a bit wiser tonight. I also thought about a printer at first, because you often get those nice books to take home... But there isn't really a printer nearby.
    Love

    Hey Molly,

I'd also go for 2 tickets! They often send you a proof, and once the baby is born, you can let them know what it turned out to be! Much more fun, right! Personally, I find neutral cards less appealing too!

We've already chosen our card! It took so long with my son that I got completely stressed out! Couldn't find anything or decide, ha ha...
I thought I'd start now in time!

Love and good luck with the search!

It'll be two cards. I spent hours crafting yesterday evening on Melissa's site. Really super fun site and I think not too expensive. Even my little guy thought it was fantastic. We're both going to make a card. He's doing a boy card and I'm doing a girl card. I'm curious what it'll turn out like. Thanks for the good tips!

I'm so happy I gave the right tip after all! I designed a card for a girl, but it's actually just green and gray. It's really nice, something different.

I made a card for my daughter via Kaartje2go myself. And I only made it when my daughter was just 2 days old. I had already looked around on that site. I didn't want visitors during the first week because the birth was quite hard. But her grandparents and brother and sister came. And within a few days you have it at home and it's quite affordable. I even got a discount because I had also ordered my wedding cards there.

Hi, I designed my own birth cards on http://www.geboortekaartje.nl/ - it was all super easy!

Tessa, I ended up doing that too. I got proof prints and I'm super happy with them!

We ordered our card from www.blijkaartje.nl. Very friendly and they really think with you. You could completely customize the card with different colors, pictures, and font.

For the first one, I went to a little shop where they have books with examples you can just take home and then choose what you like. You can also get a proof sent to your home from various sites so you can see the card not just on your screen.

Now we still need to find a nice card, but we haven't even started working on it yet.

When I was pregnant with my daughter (9 years ago), I just walked into the printer's shop and got a stack of books.
The nice thing about that was, you could see and feel the cards.

Back then, I had a card in mind and found it at the printer's.
Now, 9.5 years later (if everything goes well), I'm going to have another baby, but I'm going back to the printer.
Also because the card I want (same style as for my daughter) isn't available online, and also because I can feel the quality of the paper then.

I just started a side hustle making birth announcements.
    My website: www.ingedesign.be

Warm regards and good luck with your pregnancy!

    Hi,

I also made a "neutral" card for my son.
You can also develop a wish or another idea so it becomes very personal. For me, that was a nest full of little birds based on a personal wish. After that, the sugar beans etc. were done in the same theme.
Not boring at all and no neutral cards either.

Go check out the site www.ingedesign.be

    Hi,

I stopped by Fin&Stip for my birth announcement.

I think the website is www.finstip.be

    Cheers

We made the card ourselves in Photoshop and then had it printed at a print shop on 350g paper. We now have the proof, and we're very happy with it. I've realized that this way isn't cheaper than, say, ordering online. But it's more original.

Through some connections, I ended up with a designer who makes custom birth cards, really with our family drawn on them (including the cat ). We looked just like them and got lots of nice comments on our card.
The website isn't that pretty, but the cards themselves... check out www.almalangerak.nl

For our first baby, I ordered the card from herebenik birth cards and now it's ready for the second one

Alma Langerak is indeed a great choice, that drawing of the cat sounds super cute. I tried making my own too, but the proof prints were always disappointing in terms of paper feel. With hierbenik, it was sorted quickly for our baby, no hassle at all. If you want to do it yourself, make sure to choose thicker paper, otherwise it feels cheap.
