no or yes?

Hi, I'm new here. My partner and I are expecting our first baby. I stopped taking the pill 2.5 weeks ago, finished the strip, and got my period. But now I've had a bloated stomach and gurgling intestines for a few days, especially this morning, and stomach pain after eating. Could I be pregnant, or is it just from stopping the pill? I'm too scared to take a test.

No idea what it could be, I didn't have much trouble with the stretching. But it's nice and exciting to have a first baby after all. How are you doing now? Are the symptoms still there, or have you already taken a test?

hi ,,yeah I still have the symptoms,
just ate again and already feel so bloated and have stomach pain. It was really bad this morning when I got up too.
But I can’t really imagine being pregnant that quickly,
I did get a test but haven’t used it yet,
    I’ll wait until my period,
    so exciting,

    Hi Lady 89,

That’s indeed exciting—when is your period due?
I hope you can hold out. For me, the tension after my miscarriage before my first period got to be too much. That uncertainty, just waiting... I knew there could be a 5- or 6-week gap, but I thought my body would stick to the 29-day cycle like usual. Unfortunately, this time there’s a 5-week gap. Pity, but a new period is a fresh start, right?
Good luck, and let me know if you find out more!

    Greetings

    Hi our little group,
    around Feb 13th,
    if all goes well,
I've counted 28 days, I'm curious, and I'll let you know And that's really tough for you, that miscarriage. Hope you'll be able to get pregnant again soon.

    hey lady 89,

Well, that miscarriage really took a toll on me, which I didn't really expect. I thought I'd be too stoic about it, but that wasn't the case. It's going up and down with me emotionally right now. One moment I'm doing okay, and then sometimes I get into one of those emotional moods.

I also hope I can get pregnant again soon; maybe that sad feeling will find its place more easily then.

Anyway, we're all waiting with bated breath for you, and for me, the next round is starting. I expect my ovulation around Feb 15. So we're going to really go for it during carnival week

Good luck! Hope it works out indeed,
    for us,
but I still have pain in my lower belly, and this morning I felt a bit nauseous, but yeah, you can want it too,

That's right, eventually you start thinking there might be things that aren't actually there.
    So exciting!!

    Hi lady89,

I stopped the pill at the end of August and I heard you're supposed to "un-pill" first, but I didn't feel anything. Now I think I'm pregnant every month. Although I've managed to suppress the "pregnant feeling" quite well this month. I keep telling myself I'm just waiting for my period to start.

My period could also start around February 13th. The last two months I've had a 30-day cycle.

A really exciting time for all of us.

I'm also expecting my egg drop right after carnival!
    It's our first baby too!

Good luck to everyone. And I hope for you all!
And I hope to read it all here too!

    Fingers crossed!

    That'll be a lot of carnival/Valentine's babies.
I should also be ovulating around Feb 15.
And I haven't had much trouble with the withdrawal method either. No idea how that works out though?

@ Ons Meutje: I looked up what the symptoms of "pillover" (coming off the pill) can be. I read a lot that they can be the same as pregnancy symptoms.
My mom says she's never heard of 'pillover' and that she got pregnant quickly with all of us (I still have 2 sisters, aged 33 and 25).
I think I got pregnant with Malou pretty quickly too. I 'had' to stop taking the pill back then because we couldn't afford it anymore (it was a very happy marriage...NOT!) and then I didn't think much more about it...then I was 'suddenly' pregnant...

Now it's getting quite nerve-wracking for me, honestly. I have in my planner that I could get my period next Monday, but I'm counting on a delay until Wednesday, because I think there's a 30-day gap between them. But I did have one cycle of 38 days...

I've been taking pregnancy tests every month for the past few months, but I'm going to hold back now.

That dreaming about a baby is nice, but on the other hand, my period should just come, then I'll know where I stand.

@ evelien first of all, I have to say that Malou really looks like you. I guess she’s a cheerful little girl?
I’m curious how long you can hold back from taking a test now.
I had my periods in November over the weekend and actually wanted to wait until the following weekend to take a test. But on Tuesday I couldn’t hold out anymore and I had a test lying around. Well, you guessed it, I took it right away and it was positive. I couldn’t really believe it, so the next day I bought a new test (the first one was already quite old but not yet past its expiry date) and took it, and that one was positive too.
I totally understand your feelings about that uncertainty. I had that after my miscarriage. I thought my body would just do its thing as it should and I could expect my period again after 29 days. VK had said it could also be 5 to 6 weeks. So when those 29 days were over, the uncertainty and hope started to grow – maybe, maybe not. Oh, how annoying it got, with even a good cry session included. I wanted to take a test but also didn’t want to. I had decided to wait until 6 weeks to take a test, but the next day my period arrived. It’s a shame I wasn’t pregnant again, but at least I knew where I stood. It’s also nice to know that my body has taken up the cycle again after the miscarriage. So now we’re going for it.
