How weird. Yeah, then I'd also start doubting. For safety's sake, I'd go get a CLB test. But then again, a line is a line, whether there's one or four, right?
Good luck!
Hi!
Yeah, that's how it is!
You get so nervous wondering whether it's happening or not.
I called the HA (hospital midwife), and she said you'll be fine, but they can't say for sure with 100% certainty. So I'll have them test it tomorrow. I'm hoping for the best!! hihi (nervous)
I'm new here on this site and I'm also dealing with a test situation, the following:
In October, I missed a period. I took a test and it was negative. I called the doctor, who said this might be because I've been on the pill for a number of years (6) and it can skip a cycle once in a while. I was told to keep an eye on my next period. That period came normally afterwards. Then, I missed one pill and 2 weeks ago I heard I was due for my period during my placebo week. However, nothing came (except for a brown smear, 1.5 days after my period was supposed to start, no further drops). I took a test last Monday (a week after I was overdue). It was negative after 1 minute, and I thought it would stay negative. I checked again after 8 minutes, but the test was still negative. When I went to bed in the evening, I suddenly saw two lines on the test! I've never had that before, no matter how long I left the test. The second line is very clearly visible and pink in color (see profile photo).
I know you're not supposed to read the test after the reading time. Consider this test as good as negative. But after reading stories online about positive tests after the reading time, I'm not so sure anymore. The test line seems to be further to the right on my test compared to other positive tests from kv 2v5. What's your opinion if you see my test like this?
P.S. We plan to stop taking the pill in the summer. At the moment, if I forget the pill, we use extra contraception. If it 'suddenly' happens to be a success, we'd be very happy about it.
Hey Renate.
I won't know, better call the DA and ask what they think!
If you look at the image, the test is just positive but reading it later, I don't know exactly how that works.. I hope it's good for you!!
By the way, I still haven't gotten my period, it's already 9 days late.. Why can your body make you feel so unsure pff
Hey!
What a hassle, yeah, you still don't know where you stand..
Good thing you're getting that blood test!
According to my doctor, I had to get tested again on Saturday.
Then your pregnancy hormones won't show up in your urine.
You could still be pregnant, so they'd have to find it in your blood.
Greetings!
Hi,
Sorry.. Just keep going
Would have been super if I was already pregnant now.
How strange that you didn't notice at all..
I'm now two weeks late, did a test today, negative. Next week I have to do it again as the GP said, and then a blood test.
Hey there,
have you taken a test yet? I've never experienced skipping a withdrawal bleed before. I can totally understand why you're worried. Do you want a baby or would you rather wait a bit longer?
Heyy
Thanks Ster and Naatyp!
I think it's like 30 haha
Two weeks ago the last test was negative and on Thursday it was faintly positive and on Friday very clearly a line according to the doctor. I'm now 7 weeks and 2 days pregnant, exciting!
Oww weird that they're going to do it that way.. I don't know either, do you have to ask for an ultrasound or something to know for sure?!
Love
I actually got my period on Tuesday afternoon.. Never this late but it's here! Seems a bit lighter than usual but it's still there so I'm assuming it's a 'real' period.
Coincidentally, I'd have to pick up/renew my pills this week because my strips ran out. I've talked to my partner a few times and we've decided to stop the pill now instead of around summer.
I find it quite exciting actually! It could happen 'any moment' now. But it could also take another year. It's also tricky to plan or know if it's all a good time (in terms of school/work). Well, as the doctor already said; with a first child you never really know when the right moment is. With a second, that decision often goes a bit easier. But I'm curious! I'm really looking forward to having a baby.
Let's keep each other updated?
And Angel 1993, do you already know when your first ultrasound is?
Hey Naatyp!
Okay, glad you're over the nerves.
Exciting!! How nice hahaha oh I'm so curious!!
Yeah, nice!! uhmm Feb 20th I have to go, can't wait anymore!
With me, the first month was already a hit! And I was on the pill for 6 years.
Really curious when you guys will get pregnant!!
Hahaha I'm also curious when that's going to 'work' angel1993. Just read everywhere online that you shouldn't assume you'll get pregnant right away in the first or second month after stopping the pill. That rarely happens..blabla...It's even more special that it worked for you guys in one go!!
I was also on the pill for almost 6.5 years.
The first ultrasound sounds exciting too! Are you already feeling pregnancy symptoms??
Even after nearly 20 years on the pill, I got pregnant right away—and at 39! My first time (at 24) took 2 months after being on the pill for 6 years. So it can happen!
Yeah, that's true, but you still keep it in the back of your mind even if you don't want to haha.
Okay, exciting!!
One more week haha. Yeah, my bowels are completely blocked pff and my breasts are sore.
Hi Anne,
It has to do with everything.
It depends on how quickly your body picks up the hormones again, how quickly the pill leaves your body, and how fertile the man and woman are?
