I'm not a fan of either name, but I think Skip is still the cutest. Scout feels more like a dog's name to me, but... definitely go with what makes you happy!

For a girl or boy, I don't find either very appealing; I'd go with Skip. -

I think Scout is a nicer name. I like Slip for little kids, but not when they're older. Scout has a bit of a tough edge to it.
