Present at the birth..

hi ladies,
I'm a bit stuck with a small problem..
I'm now 36 weeks pregnant with our first baby and lately I've been thinking a lot about the birth and really want my brother there with me. We have a very special bond; he's gay and will probably never experience a birth himself, and I know he'd find it really sad to miss out. Plus, I just feel so comfortable around him. But I'm not sure how to bring this up with my partner. I'm a bit worried he might not be okay with it.
Hope for some tips and responses..
Love

Just be honest. It's tough when you can't talk openly about the birth with your partner. Try explaining it, but also respect his choice and opinion on this, because it's a very special event for him too, and maybe he wants to experience it just with you. If your partner isn't up for it, you could also consider filming the birth so your brother can still 'experience' it.

With my first baby, only my husband was there, and it’s going to be the same with the second one... I think it’s something really special for dad and for us personally...

Me too, my husband is a gym teacher and a nurse. Unfortunately, our little one had pooped in the amniotic fluid, but despite that, it was a smooth delivery. Immediately after the birth, we had the grandparents over, and later brothers, sisters, and people who we needed at that moment. The rest got cards the following week.

Just be honest and ask . What does it matter anyway. If he wants to, he'll agree; if he doesn't, he'll most likely thank you very politely for the offer.
