Baby carrier

I'm really curious if you've had any experience with a baby wrap. It seems so lovely to carry the baby in a wrap from birth. So cozy against you and still have your hands free. But maybe I'm thinking about it too romantically.

I'm thinking about the wrap by Kay or Babylonia tricot-slen or Babylonia bb-tai.

That's a good one! Sounds super cool to me too, so I hope we get some responses!

Oh, I wish I could do that too!! But in our hospital, the midwives and OBs advise against it... they say it's bad for the little one's back... I'm still really torn though!! Because is it really proven that it's bad? I don't know..

It sounds so wonderful to me, just enjoying your baby like that, and I think you'd build a stronger bond with them...

I'd also love to know more about it

I came across this article about baby wraps.

Wearing a baby in a wrap is really good for the baby's development, both physically and mentally. From a safe spot, close to the heartbeat and a familiar scent, a baby can develop with full confidence. It promotes good, ergonomic development of the hips, back, and neck muscles. From day 1 up to about three months, you carry the baby in a fetal or frog-like position, with legs pulled up into the wrap, and from three months onward, when hip development is further along, with legs out of the wrap. It's good for the production of oxytocin and the overall well-being of both the baby and the parent. Crying babies cry less, as proven by various studies, and suffer less from colic and reflux. You have your hands free for your other children and daily tasks. You can quickly and appropriately respond to the baby's needs, and the wrap is the perfect tool for breastfeeding. You can nurse very discreetly and at any time, which makes you more flexible and makes it easier for women to continue breastfeeding for longer, which is fully beneficial to public health.

@Carla, thanks for the info, girl!!
I'm actually going to consider getting a baby wrap then. But which one would be best? There's so much difference between wraps!!!

    Love

    Hi everyone

I'm totally into babywearing!! I used it 7 years ago with our Grietje, a serious crybaby who was very overstimulated, and I used it a lot and had a happy, content baby.
Now I'm even so convinced of my opinion that it's actually a pleasant transition from the womb to the earth. A baby lies in the fetal position for 9 months and then on earth they suddenly have to lie flat on their back. How frightening can it be.
    So follow your gut feeling!!!!
