Pregnancy tests, ovulation and ovulation tests
Institution or menstruation?

Hi ladies,
I'm new to the forum so I'll introduce myself quickly. I'm Fenna, 33 years old. My husband and I are trying to conceive our first baby. We're now on our 3rd cycle. It's all so exciting!
My last period started on October 15th. On October 27th I had a positive ovulation test, so for simplicity I'm assuming my ovulation happened on October 28th. So right now I'm at 11 dpo.
On 9 dpo I had very light period-like cramps. On 10 dpo they increased a bit and in the evening I had light pink discharge. This morning, 11 dpo, I had light bleeding and there was a very dark red clot (about 1 cm) in it. I thought I'd read that this isn't typical for implantation bleeding. Could this already be my period breaking through? That's weird because my cycle is almost always 28 days or longer (usually between 28 and 41 days). I've only ever had one cycle of 26 days. It could happen though, of course.
I took an early pregnancy test (which supposedly should be able to detect pregnancy 4 days before my expected period) and it was negative.
What do you think? Could it still be implantation or is it a short cycle and thus the start of my period?
I know I should wait a few days and the answer will come naturally. But it's so hard to be patient, right!
Love,
Fenna
