I was just pregnant.

Hi!

It's been a long time since I was here. My youngest is already 5 now. We really don't want any more kids. But this morning it looked like we might be pregnant.

Although it's actually impossible. My partner had a vasectomy and I'm on the pill. Still, the test was positive. The Clearblue test. I've read here in the past few years that it can give false positives. So I hopped in the car and went to Action. On the way, I started daydreaming. I always had the feeling that another boy would come.

Tested at home. Of course, it was completely negative. It couldn't be anything else. Still, I kind of feel a bit sad about it. No daydreaming anymore, no growing belly, no movements, and yet... just one more baby and breastfeeding. Secretly, it did appeal to me a bit.

Then my symptoms turned out to come from somewhere else.

It's for the best. But it was nice for a moment.

Just had to share it somewhere.

    @beertje CB with a plus? Or a different CB? The plus tests are unfortunately often false positives with a faint line. If you have a photo, we can take a look

    With a little one, yes.
    I took another test from Action and did it. It was negative. No test line, nothing. I'm going with negative. In a few days, I'll do another one just to be sure.

    If you're feeling that way, maybe it was too hasty to decide not to have another baby.

    Oh no. It was and is the right decision. We have 4 beautiful children.

    You didn't become a mother for nothing, it will always be a part of you. I really find babies and young children amazing. Definitely no desire for a 5th child. It was a pink cloud for a while though.

    @beertje Those are indeed unfortunately often false positives with a faint line But what was the reason for taking a test if I may ask, because as you yourself say, the chance is very small

    Sore nipples and breasts, way more sex drive. Went from once a month to four times a week. Bleeding during sex. Mentally more stable. Eating less and feeling less hungry. All very familiar to me from previous pregnancies.

    It's so weird that those tests are positive. It's quite clear and blue. I find it really, really scandalous. My oldest is almost 17, so that timing really didn't work out. And CB is the most reliable test.

    That's not my experience. If I had a faint line, I was always pregnant. And I've been pregnant 7 times. The line also became clearer as it dried. A clear line.

    A line is a line, it was always like that. Now, except for the CB, of course.

    @anoniem maybe if you test again in a couple of days and the plus sign is darker? if you have a photo we can take a look

    Sounds pretty negative, Beertje.
    Your experience is that a faint line meant pregnancy, but I agree with babynr3: the CB plusjes test is often really false positive. If you had been pregnant, the other test should have been positive too. Plus you say it became clearer as it dried, but that's outside the reading time and should be seen as negative. So I think there was no pregnancy.
