Ovulation tests

Hi ladies,

I've been trying for months and my insecurity is now at an end.

My ovulation tests all seem to stay negative, except for two that have a slightly lighter line. Could I possibly be pregnant?

Has anyone had experience with persistently positive ovulation tests?

My period isn't due until next week (30/9).

    What is positive?
If the test line is darker than the control line, then it's positive.
Do you have a photo of your tests?

It could be that these ovulation tests are too sensitive for you, which ones do you use?
If your period is due on Sept 30, you wouldn't be able to see that from your ovulation tests at this stage.

How long have you been using ovulation tests?

Since September 13th. Before that, I didn’t have this issue and I didn’t get a second line if I didn’t have a peak... hence my uncertainty.

    Yeah, that is indeed strange.
You'd think it would take a long time, but this is really quite long.
I've had tests that were positive for 4 days before, but never for this long.
Have you taken a pregnancy test yet? Maybe just to be sure?

Which urine are you using for these tests? Not morning urine, right?
If I used morning urine, they were always positive because your urine is very concentrated.

Yeah, just did a regular test, still negative.
I'll wait a few more days since my period is due between 9/30 and 10/2.
I always test with my first morning urine... ????

    Well, that’s probably it then.
    Just copied from the internet:
"It is recommended not to use morning urine for ovulation tests. This is because the body produces hormones (LH) at night that can trigger ovulation. Therefore, this hormone is also present in higher amounts in morning urine. If you test with ovulation tests that are sensitive to the LH hormone, you might measure an LH peak too early, even though it hasn't occurred yet. Gynecologists advise measuring the LH peak between 10 am and 4 pm. Additionally, it's best not to drink anything for 2 hours before collecting your urine for the test."

I also noticed that whenever I tested with morning urine, it was always positive. The above explains why.

So don't test with morning urine anymore, although it's quite possible you've already missed your peak.
But if you have sex every other day, that shouldn't matter, and you still have a chance.
For the next cycle, if it comes, just test during the day; that's the most reliable.

Yes exactly, some of those I've already had since late morning..
We'll just wait patiently, we're keeping up with the renovations so that's fine haha.

Oh, I misunderstood you then. I wouldn't know either.
Maybe try a different type of ovulation test?
I always used the Sensitest diptest. It worked really well for me.

I’ve got those too, maybe for the next round if it comes, but I’ll switch back to the sensitive test. Thanks for your replies! Really nice x
