What do you think of the name Ive (pronounced as Lieve without the L)?

Not bad! A variation on Iva, just like Ise on Isa. Could definitely work!

I'd initially pronounce this as Aif, you know.
But if you explain it to me, I could get used to Ive.
    Pretty okay, I think.

Yeah, I didn't immediately take to this name either, but it does have something sweet and cool about it. And I like that it's not Ivy/Evi—I think those are nice names too, but they're just so common right now.
The meaning is beautiful too, I think.
I'm just worried it'll be such a hassle explaining the pronunciation, especially abroad.
Curious if there are still people who really don't find it a beautiful name and why.

I actually think it’s a lovely name when you say it out loud, but when I see it written, I get the feeling that a letter is missing or that it’s an abbreviation (I have that same feeling with Len, for example). I’m also inclined to read it in English as “Eif” (without the j).
I definitely don’t think it’s silly at all.

Yeah, then you always have to mention how to pronounce it

    Pronunciation of Ieve?

Nice for a child, not so much for adults.

I’ve only ever come across the name Ive as a Dutch girl’s name in a baby names book from the 90s, so I hadn’t really considered that it could be pronounced in English. I think it’s a lovely name, which is also why I still remember where I first came across it.
I think most people would still pronounce it in Dutch first, contrary to the reactions above.
