Initials y.s.

Hi hi,
We've picked two names for our daughter now. However, the initials are Y and S. I'm wondering if that doesn't look weird: Y.S. + last name. It sounds like "ice cream" (ijs). Or am I overthinking this?
I'm curious what you all think.

    I think it's totally fine. I don't see any ice cream right away. But I also don't mind if someone does. I prefer two beautiful names. And if someone sees something in it... so be it!

    I recently saw: B.I.L., I wouldn't do that.
    With Y.S.: I see it, but it doesn't bother me. (I.J.S.: I wouldn't do that again).

    Yes, you do notice it indeed.. but it's good to hear that it's not directly bothersome. And Vera, indeed. We think both are beautiful names and so far we haven't found a second name that we like more. The only other option is still to use the first name with a J instead of a Y. But with a Y we think it looks nicer. Although she might have to spell her name more often, but that's also something like: let that guide your choice or not.

    Hahaha, I also think B.I.L feels a bit different. But if you’ve got a bit of humor, you should be able to handle it too.
    Our daughter is called Floor... and our second daughter, on the way, will be Fleur. People will probably have something to say about that too. But we’re happy with it, and Floor is already completely used to her sister’s name.
    I’d just stick with what feels right to you... and go for Y.S. I wouldn’t change the Y to a J if it means compromising on something that’s less ideal.
    Oh well... you’ll get the hang of spelling the name eventually! Good luck!!!

    Fleur and Floor are both such beautiful names!
    Thanks I'll definitely stick with my own choice! It's exciting to pick a name, but sometimes you shouldn't overthink it either, right?
