Overdue but negative tests

Hi ladies,
I've read a lot about situations like this, but I still want to get it off my chest and listen to your advice and stories.
I stopped the pill at the end of March, and my boyfriend and I have been trying for a baby every month since.
We've also been using an ovulation test for the past 3 months.
For the first few months, I had a regular 25-day cycle, but now I'm already 10 days late.
This time, my ovulation took 5 days longer than usual.
I'm experiencing various symptoms like enlarged areolas, tender nipples, frequent urination, and pressure in my lower abdomen… I really feel like I might be pregnant.
Still, I took a Kruidvat early test this morning, and it was negative again.
It's making me feel really unsure…
Thanks for your responses!

Think you're pseudo-pregnant, you guys are too focused on it.

    Hi Marbella..

    Well... Let's wait and see...

Hi Daisy, frustrating! I totally get it. It could very well be a false pregnancy; I'm afraid that's what's going on with me too (again). Unfortunately, there's not much you can do about it, because telling yourself to think less about it is much easier said than done. If you haven't gotten your period after a week, you could take another test so you're really sure where you stand, and then just keep waiting for your period to start.

Those early tests are rubbish. As you said yourself, your ovulation was a bit later this cycle, so it's possible that conception only happened on, say, day 2. That would be 7 days later (just an example). Then you might get what I got: 5 days late, but everything stayed negative, even the early tests. On day 6, I finally got a teeny-tiny line on the 2w5 test, and the Clearblue Digital said 1-2 weeks, while I was already expecting 2-3 weeks. Anything is possible, but you really don't know for sure until you get your period, or until you take a Clearblue or a blood test.

I got my first (Pfizer) vaccination on 06/18. My period started normally after that first shot on 06/25 (my cycle is fixed at 25 days, so it was the 25th day).

I got my second shot on 07/23. My period should have started 3 days earlier, on 07/20. Tomorrow I'll be 2 weeks late..

Believe the tests. You're off balance. Try to let it go.

Can your cycle really be messed up by the coronavirus vaccine?
I think you're focusing on it too much, Daisy. I sometimes think I have 'symptoms' too. But I also have them when I get my period.

Why would you get the vaccine if you're trying to get pregnant? I've read and heard some scary stories about infertility caused by the vaccine. But hey, maybe I'm just a wappie... I hope the vaccine doesn't affect your desire for kids.

Maybe also look at the other side.. Would you rather have a baby with lung damage due to the consequences of corona? I hear more stories from women who caught corona during their pregnancy and ended up with serious lung problems, resulting in hospital admission. And then afterwards, you just wait and see if the baby has suffered any damage..
Infertility due to the vaccine.. I haven't heard anyone say anything about that. I also asked my doctor. They said it's more likely due to other underlying reasons if you become infertile. Whether it's true or not, I'll find out in a few weeks

Ugh, I had corona when I was 28 weeks pregnant. I was bedridden for 6 weeks, could barely eat, had constant headaches and back pain—it felt like a severe pneumonia, plus loss of smell and taste. Anyway, ended up with a healthy baby, born at 39+5 on 12/3/2020, and I haven't had any issues since.

    Just as a follow-up:
After 42 days, my period finally came.
My normal cycle is 25 days, but there were still signs that things weren't quite normal:
Based on ovulation tests, we already knew that ovulation was delayed by 5 days (while it usually happens at the exact same time).
We're still wondering if it could have had something to do with the coronavirus vaccine (read from many people that they were a bit "off balance".
Anyway... we put that behind us.. and now a month later.. 5 days late and PREGNANT :-)
Clear on the Kruidvat test + CB test. Currently in week 5.

May this be a heartwarming message for anyone going through the same thing ????
I know I used to think that too, but don't think too quickly: there's something wrong with me. Keep trying and try to focus less on it (we've learned that ourselves this way too ;-)

    Hi Daisy,
Congratulations!! That's so nice that it worked out for you now! I did recognize something in your earlier story; I was 3.5 weeks overdue 2 months ago, very tired and sometimes nauseous. The strange thing was that I kept testing negative. After 3.5 weeks, I had a miscarriage, but with negative tests, which can happen... Looking back, it was a lesson for me to contact the GP earlier to get a blood test. I wish you lots of luck with your pregnancy?
