Hi! What do you think of the name Muk for a girl? We're looking for a short-sounding Dutch name that isn't too common. Puk is also pretty nice, but I find Muk slightly better for an adult. What do you all think?

    Personally, I don't think the name Muk is nice; I think Puk or Puck is nicer.
    I don't think the name is nice because in Limburg it's another word (dialect) for cow/calf, and my partner is from the Nijmegen area where they use it as a 'curse word'. If you want to know exactly what it means, I can ask for you.

    If you like the M sound, have you also thought about: Mex or Mae.

    I think Muk is really beautiful not my real name but for me personally it stands for 'my little one'. I definitely think it's a nice and original name

    I don’t think Muk is that beautiful, but every name will have its supporters and detractors, so just do what feels right to you!

    You're right about the swear word... In Limburg they sometimes say "auw muk", I don't know exactly what it means but it's not really positive

    Personally, I don't find it sounds so nice because of the association.

    Oh, as a Pokémon fan, I'd find Muk really cool.. but no, I wouldn't choose it myself

    No, I really don't think Muk is beautiful. Indeed, it sounds a bit dirty like meuk or the Limburg variants.

    I really wouldn't do it.
    I associate Muk with dirtiness and with Pokémon.
    Puck is much nicer!
