Hi ladies!
Does anyone have experience using sertraline during pregnancy? I'd love to hear your experiences!

    Hi Annanas,
I'm not pregnant yet but I'm actively trying. Soon I'll have a preconception consultation with a psychiatrist from the maternity clinic near me, specifically for advice on my various medications. Maybe that's something for you too? They're very experienced in pregnancy & medication. From my Google searches on various antidepressants, I know that sertraline is among the ADs you can continue taking during pregnancy.

Thanks for your reply! Good tip. Wishing you lots of success with your pregnancy wish!
Yes, that's right, I came across that too. But then you read things like giving birth in the hospital, or possible minor abnormalities... tricky.

    Hi annanas,
I take 50mg sertraline both with my son and during this pregnancy. Back then, the baby had to be observed for 24 hours due to possible withdrawal symptoms, but that's no longer necessary! This is because it rarely happens. As far as I know, sertraline is the best antidepressant you can take if you're trying to conceive or are pregnant.
I myself have never had any issues with it, and my son doesn't either.

Thanks for your reply! Okay, that's super! But is a hospital birth still mandatory? I'm just pregnant, so I'll probably hear about it at the first appointment, I guess.

@annanas I wouldn't dare say for sure. My choice was a hospital anyway, but I think yes. Although I'm not sure if that's still the case now since the baby doesn't need to be observed for 24 hours anymore I have to give birth in the hospital with this baby because my placenta didn't detach properly and the edge regarding the amount of blood loss you're allowed to have.

Congratulations on your pregnancy How are you feeling?

Aah okay! Well, I guess I'll hear more at the first appointment, I think.
Oohh okay, so for you it's definitely best in the hospital.
I'm still feeling good! (Still) no complaints. I see you're 16 weeks now? How are you doing so far?
