Testing or waiting

Hi,
I've been on the pill for a really long time. My boyfriend and I had sex (without a condom) during my pill-free week. Thirteen days later, I started losing blood with a brown and light pink color. I've never had an irregular bleed before, which was already strange. I had cramps a week before the bleeding started. Since then, I've been having uterine cramps, and I'm very tired and nauseous with waves of it. I took a test 5 days before my expected period, and it was negative. Would it stay negative, or could I still be pregnant?

The thing is, all these symptoms can also be explained if you weren't pregnant. Just because you've never had spotting before doesn't mean you can't suddenly have it now. Same with nausea and cramps. Maybe you just have a stomach bug and your intestines are hurting. But you could well be pregnant; the symptoms fit the picture.

I think testing 5 days before your expected period is really too early. I'd wait a bit and test only if you're late, or if you really can't wait, max a day or two before your expected period.
