Experience with the 3rd child

Hi ladies,

We have two daughters, aged 2.5 and 10 months, and we'd like to have a third child. I'm just really torn on whether we should go for a third now or wait a bit longer. We're both 28.

Going from one to two was quite tough for me, and then having them so close together. Everyone tells me that going from two to three isn't as hard. Are there any mums with experience of having three kids close together?

What do you advise? Should we wait until the youngest is 4 and starts school, or just go for it in a year's time? That way, the eldest will definitely be in school by then.

What's your experience?

Love, Eva

    Hey girls,

I had my third a bit later, he's almost 10 weeks now. My oldest just turned 6 and the middle one will be 4 in August. There's a 2-year gap between them because I had a miscarriage in between. What I see as an advantage now is that the other two are more independent and understand when they need to wait, which wouldn't be the case with a smaller age gap. It's nice to see how the oldest plays with the others, but they also cause the biggest wars haha, so they don't feel any competition from the youngest. I would have liked them closer together, but my husband didn't. I didn't find the transition from 1 to 2 that big. The middle one was very easy, and this one demands more attention haha. So it can be quite tough because, as you know, they choose the worst moments for it
