Period after the emergency contraceptive pill

On Nov 1, 2020, I had my last shot of the birth control pill.
By Feb 1, 2021 (12 weeks), it was supposed to have "worn off".
This morning when I went to the bathroom, I had pink discharge. In the afternoon, it started turning (dark) brown. Now in the evening, it's almost nothing anymore.

What's your experience after stopping the birth control pill? Was your first period also dark in color or bright red? My GP says I don't need to worry and that this is normal after stopping the pill, and that I can consider it a period despite the color.

For me, it took 9 months after 1 injection for my cycle to return to normal, so your story doesn't sound exceptional

It took me 6-7 months after the shot wore off before I got my monthly cycle back. I used the birth control pill for years. It has nothing to do with how long you've been on the pill. Some women just need longer to get off the pill than others.
