Baby wish
IUI process without a found cause
Hi there,
I had an appointment today at the fertility clinic regarding our wish for a second child, which has now been going on for 2 years without any success. I did have two early miscarriages. My first daughter was conceived naturally without any issues. We’ve both been tested and nothing unusual was found. The doctor suggested starting with IUI combined with hormones (Clomid and something else). I have to say it all came as quite a shock. On one hand, I’m glad I don’t have to beg to be taken seriously, but on the other hand, it’s all happening so fast—I wasn’t expecting to start treatment right away. Also, the chance of pregnancy with IUI is only about 10%, which isn’t very high. I’m looking for experiences from people who are in or have gone through this process (and maybe also those where no cause was found?). What does the treatment involve? What experiences do you have with the medication? (A lot of side effects?) Thanks in advance for your responses.
Best, Saar
