IUI process with no identified cause
Hi there,
I had an appointment today at the fertility clinic because we’ve been trying for a second child for 2 years now without any success. I did have two early miscarriages. My first daughter was conceived naturally without any issues. We’ve both been tested and nothing unusual came up. The doctor suggested starting with IUI combined with hormones (Clomid and something else). I have to say it all came as quite a shock. On one hand, I’m glad I don’t have to beg to be taken seriously, but on the other hand, it’s all rushing at me—I didn’t expect to start treatment right away. Also, the chance of pregnancy with IUI is only about 10%, which isn’t very high. I’m looking for experiences from people who are in or have been through this process (and maybe also those without a known cause?). What does the treatment look like? What experiences do you have with the medication? (A lot of side effects?) Thanks in advance for your replies.
Best, Saar
