Experience with the copper IUD

Hi ladies,

I gave birth to my third boy 6 weeks ago. Last Thursday I had a copper IUD inserted by my GP. I had a bit of bleeding, like after a cervical smear. So more because it had been touched, you know. The next day it got heavier and today I feel like I'm on my period. I haven't had my period yet and I'm also exclusively breastfeeding. Now I'm actually looking for experiences with this IUD? Can you get your period right after insertion? I also have period symptoms like headache, back pain, fatigue (okay yes, we don't take those too seriously with 3 kids haha). I'm also afraid of getting pregnant again. In 6 weeks the GP will check if it's still in place, but she said it was safe right away. Well, I'll take that with a grain of salt
