Positive pregnancy test but still got my period

Hi,

I took a pregnancy test last Tuesday and it was negative really quickly, but I had a lot of stomach pain. On Friday I took another test and it was positive really fast. I was super moody, very tired, and got a lot of pimples, so I was happy. I was supposed to get my period on Saturday, but I didn’t. Then on Tuesday night I suddenly started bleeding, so I went to the hospital. They said I wasn’t pregnant? So I guess it’s my period? But normally my period is really heavy, and this time it wasn’t at all. My hCG levels were very low. What should I do now?

    @jana, I guess it was probably a pseudo-menstruation. I think that's what it's called. You still have too little hCG in your body, so your body doesn't recognize it. Or it could be the start of a miscarriage, but I certainly hope not.

    @jana if the tests are getting darker, it's good with a miscarriage, the tests actually get lighter

    @jana I’d repeat the test just to be sure, then do a CB test with a week indicator so you’ll know for sure. You can also ask for an ultrasound at 6 weeks if you want

    What did they say at the hospital?
    You can test every other day to see what it does.

    Unfortunately, it's just waiting from here on out.

    They said I wasn't pregnant, so they just did an ultrasound on my belly and they saw nothing. But it's obviously way too early to see anything.

    Hi Jana, I was in a similar boat like you
    I took a test on Saturday, very faint line. On Sunday I did a CB test and it was positive! Same day I had bleeding. Monday morning I went to the GP and my HCG was 29. Still bleeding. It was quite intense for 24 hours. On Tuesday evening it was completely gone.
    I kept testing with the Action tests from Monday to Thursday. The line was rising nicely.
    Last Monday I had another blood test and my HCG was 807. So bleeding doesn't necessarily mean anything yet.
    As you say, if they've already done an ultrasound, that's way too early!
    I emailed my gynecologist when I was 4 weeks pregnant. She said there was nothing to see yet and that I could go in from 5 weeks - I have an appointment on Monday.
