How to pronounce Erin

Hi everyone,
My husband and I both think Erin is a nice girl's name. But we're a bit unsure if people will pronounce it correctly.. what do you guys think?
Do you pronounce it as Erin (so like eeeerin, a bit exaggerated now haha) or more like "erin" (as in, I put something in it, I put something in the box)?
I hope you can understand what I mean by typing it out haha..

Greetings

    Haha, fun question!
No, as a name I really do pronounce it as Eeerin...no doubt about it!

    I wouldn't pronounce it as Er-in, but as Eh-rin.

I pronounce it as Erik with an n =P

Yeah, like Erik but with an n. Nice name! Irish names (I think) often sound so beautiful!

I know two people who are named that, and you pronounce both as Erin.. not as eeeerin..

    Wow, high pest level!

Here too, like an earlier comment, Eh-rin

I don't think you should choose this name. When she's a teenager, people will make jokes about what "er" all goes "in" every day. You can really count on that. Would you want to put a child through that?

I would choose Eerien then because I read about it.
