Oh my gosh, I just can't believe it!!
So it really wasn't tested too early?? I probably shouldn't wander too much on the Internet, I read all sorts of different stories everywhere...
Thanks for your reply, Esraa, and congratulations to you too!!!

That varies, girl. Some have a positive test before their expected period and others only a week after. It has more to do with when you ovulated. For example, I tested positive only a week after my expected period and I doubt I had a late ovulation. So enjoy it! And yeah, too much surfing on the internet can be frustrating, but sometimes it's nice to chat. You're curious, right? And what's happening to you. xx -

I took a pregnancy test again this morning and, well, it was even clearer hihi. I immediately called the GP and made an appointment to discuss everything (I work in childcare, so there are risks involved, and I’d like to know more about that). I just can’t believe it
Esraa, how did you find the VK? Did you search for it yourself or through the GP?
Love, Talya -

Hey Talya, congratulations, girl!
Super awesome!! It’s probably still feeling surreal!
I also worked in childcare, and as far as I know, even the 6th infection can be dangerous for the unborn baby! But here they are required to report it so you can stay home!
You can choose your own midwife! That’s what I did! Just pick one close by and where you feel comfortable! And definitely keep your GP in the loop!
Love, Lynn and enjoy it! -

Hey Talya, I haven't checked VK yet because I'm on holiday abroad for a few weeks and only just found out I'm pregnant
I went straight to the hospital, they took blood and it showed 500 hCG, which confirms I'm pregnant. The ultrasound didn't show anything yet. I'm a bit worried, but it might just be too early. I'm getting another scan on Friday, hopefully something will be visible then. We fly back on Sunday, so I'll take all the necessary steps then. I'm already seeing a gynecologist, so I have an address. Good luck to you too! I'd still wait for an ultrasound at 6-7 weeks, that's usually good. -

Hi Esraa, huge congrats girl!! I can totally believe it still feels a bit unreal
If you only have 500 hcg, it's indeed still quite early to see anything
and they usually only see a heartbeat from around 6 weeks. So if you're not that far along yet, don't panic girl.. It's lovely to discover you're pregnant while on holiday... quite a nice surprise, right..
As for childcare, I don't know if you're from Belgium or the Netherlands.. (I'm also graduated as a childcare worker) but here in Belgium (Belgie), you have to report immediately when you know you're pregnant so you can stop (have to stop) due to risks like sixth disease, as Lynn mentioned, and there are other childhood illnesses etc., and you also can't work with children if you're not immune to CMV.
So if you're not resistant to CMV, you definitely can't work anymore.
Lots of love and enjoy your pregnancy!! -

Ladies, thanks for the replies (: Lynn, I went looking for a midwife, found one within walking distance, will contact them tomorrow.
Wow, it's all so exciting. Esraa, an acquaintance of mine is also pregnant, at 5 weeks they didn't see anything on the ultrasound either. Now she's almost 10 weeks further along, they did say at 5 weeks that it was too early.
Dreams can come true, I live/work in the Netherlands. Next Wednesday I have an appointment with the GP, the GP did say today that I could just keep working and that I'll be informed about the pregnancy, working in childcare etc. from Dec 5th. Or should I share the big news tomorrow already? I actually wanted to wait until after my vacation, I have 2 weeks vacation starting next week. Or will I take risks then?

Hey ladies, hearing all this makes me feel good, but I'm so nervous tomorrow. I can't wait for the ultrasound! But I have a good feeling about it. We'll see. I'll let you know tomorrow!!! Thanks again for the congrats. Dreams can come true. Greetz -

my 2nd post didn't load properly... I'm seeing it now...
Dumb me

how are you feeling now girl? it'll be nice to get used to having so many tests behind you and now finally some clear answers. tests can really bring a lot with them, right? and then the impatience
which is totally understandable, right?
good luck with your pregnancy girl!! and enjoy it!!! -

Hmm, I actually feel pretty normal and mostly calm, but also a bit foggy. I still can't believe it; I'm afraid of being disappointed since it's still so early. Sounds maybe quite silly, but I'm still taking a test every 2 days (cheap pregnancy tests from DealExtreme, well they have to be, hehe). I told my parents and in-laws today. At the moment they burst into tears and hugged us, it really sank in again 'oh yeah, I'm pregnant'. I had phone contact with the midwife today. She wants to do an ultrasound only at week 10, my girlfriends already had one at 7 weeks. Does this vary per midwife?? Found it a bit strange and I really don't want to wait that long

Hi Talya, don't know how it's going for you guys.
Well, I was already 10 weeks and 4 days pregnant before I knew I was pregnant
so then I only got my first ultrasound...
Well, if they do it earlier they can't see much, but you understand that you'd find it sad if your friends already had one at 7 weeks... From about week 6 you can already hear the little heart beating, so at 10 weeks you can see quite a lot
... Little aliens look so weird^^ but oh so beautiful to enjoy
I can believe that sometimes it doesn't sink in yet that you're pregnant, I had that too^hihi I understand that you're afraid of being disappointed, but don't think about it, just enjoy yourself, sometimes it's easier said than done but still. hihi yeah, I think I had about 20 of those tests
you're right, they don't stay good forever^^ and if you're a bit more reassured that way
but remember, once you've had the ultrasound you still have to get through 2 more weeks and you're out of the most dangerous period, girl, and maybe you can enjoy yourself better!!!?
Love and good luck^^
