Has anyone had experience with Utrogestan?

Hi lovely ladies!
Yesterday I went to the gynecologist.
He told me that two eggs ruptured this month. One was 24mm and the other 29mm. Yippee;-). Never experienced that before!
He gave me Utrogestan to take. Does anyone here have experience with it?

Yep! Got pregnant and stayed pregnant with the first round of IVF 21 weeks now

I had to take that from 17 weeks of pregnancy because I always had early births around 33 weeks. This time, with Utrogestan, I made it to 36 weeks and 5 days.

Oh Vosje, what great news to hear! Did you have any side effects from it? I've been taking it for 2 days now. My gynecologist prescribed it for me. I need to use 200 mg vaginal capsules twice a day. Isn't that a bit much? You usually read 200-300 mg... Exciting!
Gemma: Oh super, so it's really a miracle cure then?

I also had a lot of rest and a cerclage.

I did have side effects (I thought), but that could just as well have come from implantation and pregnancy since I was pregnant right away
I never expected to test positive because I attributed all the symptoms to the Utro
I had to take 100mg three times a day starting from my ovulation, so indeed 300/day. But better too much than too little, I think

Vosje: This really gives me a lot of encouragement! I've read a lot of positive things about it, but I haven't heard many personal experiences yet. When did you test positive?

I'm also starting Utrogestan next week.

I'm also using Letrozole 250mg to bring my ovulation forward (that works well), and I used Ovitrelle (one-time injection) this month to help my ovulation.

My progesterone level is low, so that's why I'm starting Utrogestan now.

Curious to hear from you, Sel_mom????

May I ask what symptoms you have that Uterogestan was prescribed for?
I actually suspect that a progesterone deficiency might be playing a role for me too... Had an early miscarriage in round 1, couldn't find ovulation in rounds 2 and 3, used extra sensitive ovulation tests in round 4 which tested positive on CD 25 and 26, but my period already started on CD 33! I'll look into this round again, otherwise I'll definitely have to go to the doctor with the story anyway...

I didn’t have a progesterone deficiency, but for some mysterious reason, my uterine lining was way too thin. I was pregnant in cycles 2 and 4, but had an early miscarriage each time. In cycles 5 and 6, I was monitored more closely, and a thin uterine lining was confirmed. My progesterone levels were actually perfectly fine, which was strange.

Usually, this is caused by a progesterone deficiency. So they gave me Utro in cycle 7 to stimulate my uterus to produce more lining, while waiting for further tests. And it worked right away! I was supposed to have a hysteroscopy the day after I tested positive to check if there was a physical cause for my thin lining (like Asherman's syndrome, for example), but in the end, I could cancel it. So I'll never know what caused my uterine lining to be so thin.

Vosje, what a beautiful story! And indeed, who cares what it was due to, the result is what counts! Unless you want another baby after this, of course... Did you have any other signs of a thin uterine lining besides the miscarriages? Short or light periods, for example? I don't have that, I think I have a fairly normal period.

Used it here too during my first pregnancy. Had to insert it 3 times a day. Didn't really have any issues with it.
I also took it because my uterine lining was on the thinner side, and wanted to give myself every chance to implant properly.
    Wishing you lots of success!

    Hi ladies!
I'm 10dpo and just took a test, I'm so confused!
What do you see? I don't think I can see this as positive, but everyone else seems to see two lines.
Because my luteal phase was so short, I had to take Uestrogest.
  13. Suusje Guest #14

It's still hard to see now, Sel_mom. Maybe do another test tomorrow.....
Did you happen to use Clomid or Letrozole first to lengthen your luteal phase?

My best friend also got pregnant/stayed pregnant with the help of Utro.

She did mention that it leaves a sort of Vaseline-like layer in your vagina, which felt weird during sex, she said! Don't know if that's the case for every woman though. But if it helps, why not!
