When are you going for the second baby?

Hi! I gave birth to our first daughter in October. It was a C-section. We spent two years trying, and got pregnant through IVF. I'm already thinking about having another baby. I love my daughter so much and still have so much love to give. How much time do you usually have between your first and second child?

Hi Hanne, I also had a C-section, and I was advised not to get pregnant again for the first year or two because the wound needs time to heal.

Hanne, are you expecting to have to go through the IVF process again?
You should ask the doctors when it's okay to try again. It won't help if the wound still needs to heal and you're already pregnant.

I also had my first baby via C-section, and they also advise against getting pregnant again within a year due to the high risk of wound complications. Our son was 1 year and 3 months old when I got pregnant again. I'm now 12 weeks pregnant

My first baby in July 2008
    My second in June 2011
    My third in November 2019
And now round 6 for baby 4
So between my third and fourth, I hope there won’t be too much time in between.

After a C-section, you need to wait longer. Given your medical situation, I’d suggest going to see your gynecologist.

When reading your topic title, my first reaction was, if you're ready for it.
