Eefje
Good afternoon everyone!

I'm really at my wit's end..... We've been trying for over a year now and recently signed up for fertility treatment. I had an internal ultrasound (on Dec 9th) and the doctor said my period seemed to be coming. I most likely have PCOS. Recently I've been experiencing all sorts of symptoms: for the past two weeks, tender breasts, white spots on my nipples, and lower abdominal cramps that feel like period cramps... Two weeks ago I had very light brown discharge for two evenings (not really worth mentioning, actually).

Last night I did a test, didn't pay much attention to it because I assumed it wouldn't be positive. This morning I happened to glance at the test and suddenly saw a faint line. Later in the morning I did a new test, and there's a minuscule line visible on it—you can't even see it in the photo. Because I'm going crazy with uncertainty, I did another one shortly after... (Not smart, I know) but I see nothing on that one. My phone appointment with the fertility clinic is on January 28th, but of course I'm hoping deeply that it won't be necessary anymore. I know I need to be patient, but the uncertainty is driving me crazy :-( Has anyone experienced this? What do you think?

Thank you so much for reading....

Love, Eefje

Hi, when should your period be due now?
  2. Eefje started this #3

Unknown, no regular cycle. My last one was in early October...

Then I'd just test every two days now, since hCG doubles every two days.

    Here are the results....

They look positive! Try testing with first morning urine tomorrow to see if they're darker.. very gentle congratulations..
  6. Mamavan2meiden #7

That's possible.. I tested positive with it 4 days before my period.

Oh... now I don't know either
I'll test again on Monday, I think.

Keep testing, even Clear Blue tests are unfortunately too often false positives. If the Kruidvat 2+1, which is extra sensitive from 8 hCG, shows negative, I'm afraid you're not pregnant. Test again just to be sure in a few days!

    Hi Eefje,

If you had implantation bleeding 2 weeks ago, you should definitely have a clear positive test by now. Maybe you did conceive, but it went wrong early on, which is why you're still seeing a faint line. Or your body is just producing too little pregnancy hormone right now.

I think it's best to keep testing with kv 2v5. I once got a false positive with Clearblue. I had a positive result with it 4 days before my expected period. So these tests are very sensitive. My implantation bleeding was 2 days before my expected period.

I'm rooting for you that it keeps going well!

Thank you so much for the replies.
I’m afraid I’m not pregnant after all. I’ll check again in a few days; you get disappointed every time. Everyone knows that feeling, of course
Has anyone here had experience with PCOS? I finally have my intake appointment at the end of January...

Hi Eefje, I have to be honest now: Clearblue also indicated pregnancy for a friend of mine, but it turned out she wasn't. On the other hand, I did test positive with Clearblue before I tested positive with the Kruidvat one. My doctor always said, a line is a line, so something is growing. You also have 2 Clearblue tests that show positive... I think you'd best wait another 2 days and test again. I think you'll test positive then!

I hope so too, your message gave me a little bit of hope... by chance, I looked at the Kruidvat test I did yesterday morning, and there was a very faint line visible now. But this could also be an evaporation line.
I’m going to test on Monday and really hope it’ll be positive then. I already have a digital CB test ready to go.

I wouldn't go for a digital one yet if the test strips are so faint. Digital tests are much less sensitive, so you'll probably get a negative result. The 2v5 from Kruidvat is one of the most sensitive tests. I'd stick with those until you get a clear second line.
  14. Sel_mom #15

Hey Eefje, can I take a look at the test? The faint line should normally be white... It's tough, huh, just waiting... I'm 9 days before my period and already thinking it's a lost cause... How exhausting our thoughts can be!

Hi Sel_mom! I did something yesterday (you'll laugh your head off) after reading what to do when a test line fades. I put water drops on it because they say you should check if the line is still there... I put way too much water on it and now the line is completely gone, haha, so I can't even take a photo of it.
It's so stressful for you too! The waiting feels like it lasts forever, and yeah, we really drive ourselves crazy too
  16. Sel_mom #17

Eefje, hahaha! I laughed out loud!! I just did an ovulation test and looked for a second line with a flashlight... We're all good

I had bleeding and cramps in my belly today I think I've started my period....
  18. Mamavan2meiden #19

Aww, that's so sad! Strength and hope that it gets better soon for you

    That's so sad
