Pregnant or not?

Hi! I'm currently 3 days before my expected period. I took an early test from Kruidvat yesterday and today. On the left test (from yesterday) you can see a very faint line, and on the right one (from today) a slightly clearer line. I read so many negative comments about this test (false positives, evaporation lines, etc.) that I also took a 'regular' test today, but it was clearly negative. Now I'm wondering if you have any experience with the early test and what you think based on the photo. Love!

    Seems positive to me.

Try the 2/5 ones. They're more reliable.

Hi, I tested this morning and got a result like in the photo, but I also did a 2/5 test which was negative. Could it be that the 2/5 is still negative because I'm still before my expected period, while the early test already shows positive?

I think those early tests from Kruidvat, which you used first, often give a false positive result if I'm not mistaken.

That's what I was afraid of, unfortunately.

I used TestjeZelf for the first one, and for the second one I used Sensitest and Clearblue.

Well, it seems like they shouldn't be sold then! I think it's just positive, but just to be safe, order some others that you'll do after Christmas. Otherwise, it can't be that they pile up!

If the 2/5 says negative, you unfortunately have to go with that.

Yeah, that's what I find weird too. You'd think if it's a false positive, why is the line a bit darker today than yesterday? When did you test positive? Was that before your expected period?

Well, I guess I’ll just assume that, but I’m secretly hoping it was still too early to test for the 2/5 haha

No, mine were 3 days after the missed period. It was quite a surprise! It took me over 3 years with my daughter, using ICSI. This time, I stopped the pill and my third cycle didn't come, so I started testing and turns out I was pregnant ;-)

But I do find it weird when you get two positive results on that test and it's not correct. I've never experienced that before, and I tested quite a bit during those 3 years!

Seems to me you wouldn't get a false positive on 2 different tests, right? I used these for my daughter in 2014 and there was nothing false about them..

Oh, that gives me a little hope again! Were the lines on your test not completely clear and super dark blue at first either?
  13. Anonymous Guest #14

That was 6 years ago. The messages now are that he often gets false positives with these types of strips.
  14. Truus #15

No, I would have needed to test it out, so it's super clear..

    That's quite a big difference.

If the ladies now say that these tests with these kinds of thin, light lines are false positives, called evaporation lines, I'd rather assume that, no matter how unpleasant.

    The 2/5 are better tests.
