Which Frisian girl's name

YlseGuest ·
With a Frisian great-grandmother (for our baby, my grandma) who is still happily alive, we'd really like to give our first child a unique Frisian first name. It's going to be a girl. Which name do you all like the most;
Djoeke
Sinne
Fimme
Rinke
Minke
Nynke

New options are also welcome. Thanks in advance!

Among our friends, we have a Frisian person and his daughter is named Fardau. I find it really nice and it sounds quite independent! And it's Frisian, so

I think I like Minke the most, it just sounds so cheerful.
Sinne is also nice, but sometimes makes me think of 'sinner'.
Nynke is nice, but the spelling is confusing because of Nienke.
Djoeke, Rinke and Fimme I don't find so beautiful.

These are the nicest Frisian girls' names:
Bente, Fardau, Femke, Fenna, Imke, Jente, Jildou, Marit, Renske and Silke

I think Sinne is the cutest. Fardau is nice too.

I like Sinne from your list. Nice and fresh and original.
Fimme, Nynke and Rinke I also think are nice Frisian names.
I don't like Djoeke and Minke, sorry.
Silke I also think is a really nice Frisian name

My sister-in-law is expecting their 4th child, and for a girl, these are the 3 names on her list!
    Aukje, Aafke, and Janne-Marije

I don’t really know many Frisian names, but my nephews would have gotten these names if they had been girls
    Jildou, Tytsia, and Minke

I live in Belgium and got the Frisian first name Jilske. I'm really happy with that name

Hi everyone! Our daughter Sinne Betty Jildou was born on January 6, 2021. Her nickname is Sinne. She came into the world at 34 weeks, but luckily everything is going well so far. We hope to be able to go home healthy soon, in a few weeks. It was really hard for us to choose the name, and we only joined this forum quite late, but your help definitely helped. Thanks for that! Betty is a direct namesake after my grandma, who is called Betty "Elizabeth". We think Jildou completes the name beautifully. Love, Ylse, Robert and Sinne!

I think Sinne is the cutest.
After that, Ypke, Silke, and Fimme. I don't like the rest as much.
Maren is a beautiful name, but it's not Frisian and besides having a nice meaning, it also has a less pleasant one (of the sea, beauty, and bitterness).

Congratulations on the birth of your daughter. She has beautiful names.
I hope everything continues to go well and she can soon come home with you.
