Girls' name advice: Juna/Yuna/Joena

Ladies, help!
We've chosen to name our future baby Juna (pronounced with a 'u' sound, so Joena). We don't think Joena looks nice written down, even though it guarantees that everyone will pronounce it correctly. We'd rather go with the spelling Juna. Youna is also an option, but it's less pretty too.
Are there any moms with the same name and what has been the experience so far? I hope that after explaining it once to friends and family, the name will be well received. Of course, I realize it might be different with strangers, but we're okay with that.
I'd love to hear your opinions.
Kind regards!

    Ohhh.... tricky!
I'm a teacher, so I see a lot of names and spelling variations pass by. I always feel bad for a child if I mispronounce their name.... especially if it happens repeatedly. That's mainly when the spelling makes it possible to pronounce it differently.
Juna.... I would pronounce as juunaa... Or djoena (like June). I find that spelling the least convenient.
Joena is thus the most convenient, but I also understand that that spelling appeals to you less. Yoena could also work.
Yuna I find the middle ground.... not entirely convenient for pronunciation... maybe written a bit more chic than Joena.

Personally, I like simple names... and I would gladly go for Joena.... because I like ordinary... because you don't need to make a name more special.

Good luck with the choice. I don't have a ready-made answer, just good luck with making the decision.

Here’s a mom of Juna. (juuna). We thought the pronunciation and spelling couldn’t be explained any differently. But even good acquaintances still mess it up. As for pronunciation: Joena / joena / loena / luuna.
    Was really surprised about this.
If you don’t want any doubt about pronunciation, I’d go for Joena or Yuna, I think.

I don’t think the spelling Joena looks nice, and Youna/Yoena look a bit Arabic (nothing wrong with that, but maybe not what you’re looking for).
Juna and Yuna are the most beautiful, with Juna taking the lead. I’d keep it like that and just say it out loud once, and it’ll work out fine. People also write Luca and Luna (usually) and often say Loeka and Loena.

I don't think Joena is beautiful either! I automatically pronounce Juna as Juunaa and Yuna as Joena. I work at a daycare center and there you always ask the parents first, and it's the same at school. So it'll be fine! I'd go with whatever you think looks best!

Thanks for the replies. I'll take some time to think about it :-) Additional comments are still welcome. Thanks!

Just a heads up: Yuna is a Japanese name and is pronounced "Juu-na," so that pronunciation won't match what you're looking for. I'd suggest going with Joena (100% clear) or, if you really don't like that spelling, Juna (with a higher chance of multiple pronunciations). Or maybe consider a completely different name? Good luck

I’d pronounce Juna as Juuna, but I think once you tell people it’s pronounced Joena, they’ll quickly pick up on that.
I think Juna is the prettiest spelling, followed by Joena. With a Y, it doesn’t look as nice to me.

My daughter is named Jolie, pronounced Zjolie (in French). Seemed not too complicated to me, but people still make a big deal out of it. Djolie, Joolie, Shirley, Charlie... So yeah, I wouldn’t worry too much about others haha!

Hahaha P. I have to laugh a bit. I get that people are unsure about whether to pronounce it English/Dutch or French. But when they make such a fuss about it and end up with Shirley and Charlie, haha, then they're not really paying attention Nice Jolie in French!

Funny. I also found this a tough choice (whether we'd even want to pronounce it ourselves as Juuna or Joena) and read that most people would pronounce Juna as Juuna, so we consciously chose that. In practice, we also notice that most people who don't know her yet immediately say Juuna, sometimes Joena, and very rarely Djuna. Once they know her and know the name, it's no big deal anyway.

Our daughter is named Juna (Juu-na). I've noticed that a lot of people initially say Joe-naa (which makes sense given the pronunciation of the name Luna). It's a bit annoying, but I just correct them. I thought Juna was by far the prettiest.
