morning after pill of no?

Quick question, ladies: I made a mistake and miscalculated
I had sex on the day of ovulation. Could I still take the morning-after pill?
Or should I not worry too much since it only happened that one day? I already have 4 kids and don’t want a fifth, which is why I’m so stressed.

You could definitely take the pill. But why not leave the church for singing if you don't want a fifth child? Or use other contraception?

Thanks Shanna for your reply. I'm afraid of an IUD because I've heard stories about it causing infections, and I forget the pill easily. Besides, I think it's junk for your body. I thought it was safe, but then I found out I had miscalculated and it turned out to be the 14th day.

I’d definitely do it just to be safe. I’m almost 30 weeks pregnant now because of one such incident. I thought my ovulation was still far off, but it turned out it had already happened. Normally, my ovulation is around day 20. This time, it was day 15. Who knows, your egg might still come. If you don’t do it, you’re sure there’s a chance. And if you’re too late for the morning-after pill, you can’t say you did everything you could to prevent it.

P.S. The baby is very much wanted and welcome, but we’ve had quite a dark cloud hanging over pregnancies, so we weren’t planning on having a child yet. I already have one daughter who is 1.5 years old.

But isn't going to church for singing an extra option? Or is that difficult for the men?

Madeleine, I just checked with my sister (gynecologist) for you, but an IUD is completely safe. Of course, there are always exceptions, but 99% of women don't have any issues. Or what about sterilization?

Isn't it true that the calendar method isn't very reliable anymore, especially right after ovulation? Anyway, I'd just take the pill and really think about contraception if you don't want a fifth child. I think the timing method to avoid having sex around the fertile window isn't 100% foolproof either.

No, and definitely not for singing in church either, especially not if the man in question can't control himself!

    Or consider getting sterilized?

    Madeleine, how did it go?

Singing out of church seems really unsafe to me too. How did it end up in the end?

    Thanks ladies for your advice.
I'm congratulated on your pregnancy, yes I understand you, I also had that the fourth didn't come at the best time but he was still very welcome. And yes, hopefully I had a late ovulation. Shanna, thanks for checking, it reassures me to know, I'll think again about an IUD. I'm not ready for sterilization yet, don't like the thought.
I still have to wait, I expect my period at the end of next week.
