Pregnant or not

Hey, I had a question..
I was supposed to get my period and as of today I still haven't. I have a long cycle of about 42 days and my last period was on 18-10-2020. Lately I've been feeling very nauseous, this morning so much that I threw up everything. But I took a test yesterday and it was still negative. My gynecologist said I should wait a bit and test again. Are there more people who have experienced this and have no other symptoms except nausea and a weird feeling in my stomach and a lot of white discharge?

The test says not pregnant. So you're not pregnant right now.

How old are you? Recently stopped the pill?

The gynecologist says I should wait and see because I probably tested too early.. I'm 22 and haven't been on the pill for a few years.. I'm also taking folic acid.

    Good morning Druifje24.
Did you test with your first morning urine?

You're opening multiple topics about the same subject. I already wrote this answer in your previous topic:

With a negative pregnancy test, your symptoms almost certainly don't come from a pregnancy.
A test only becomes positive after successful implantation, and pregnancy symptoms only arise after successful implantation because that's when the hCG hormone is produced.

In late autumn, many flu viruses are circulating, including nausea and vomiting. You're more likely suffering from that. Otherwise, you would have seen a (light) line on the test.

I myself often didn't experience mild, dizzy nausea until 5-7 days after getting a positive test, not before.
Good luck with trying to conceive!

    I agree with Zuss.
It can be frustrating sometimes, but your body can play tricks on you. Strength and success!!

If you're experiencing those symptoms because you might be pregnant, it would be due to the hCG hormone. Modern pregnancy tests are very sensitive; if you were feeling sick from it, the test would show positive.

There's a lot of misinformation out there, and your body can sometimes play tricks on you.

    When is your period due?

Hey, my period should have been on the 29th, but it's still not here. I took the test from Action in the evening.

So you're 5 days overdue now? Take another test with an early detection test (10 hcg) in 2 days. If that's negative too, repeat it a week later. Still negative? Then I'd guess you missed a cycle, which can happen, even if you've been off contraception for a while. The gynecologist says to wait it out, and unfortunately, that's all we can do. You could ask for a blood test if you're a week or a week and a half overdue, but try to relax as much as possible. If you're stressed, your period can also be a few days late, and the symptoms you're feeling might unfortunately be due to a flu that's currently going around. Strength, that uncertainty isn't nice.

Your body can really play tricks on you unfortunately. I had symptoms every month for 17 months. When I finally turned out to be pregnant, I only had some fatigue and wasn't at all thinking about being pregnant.
I would indeed test again in 2 days and then 2 days later if you test negative. But try not to hold too much hope, the more disappointment you can have.
    Good luck!

So you were overdue when you took the tests? How come you're still early?

Morning or evening urine doesn't matter anymore. Back in the day, when I found out I was pregnant with my youngest, I tested in the afternoon because it was clearer than in the morning.

    You could test again.

That's what she said, I'll test again over the weekend.

    Smart, exciting stuff.

    And?

Hey hey, just an update.. I haven't had my period yet. I wanted to test this weekend but I thought I'd wait and not stress too much, and just relax for a day/night in the hotel haha.. I'll wait a bit longer and then test next week or wait until my appointment on 16-12 with the gynecologist..
    Lots of love..

    Do you know anything more?

How was it at the gynecologist?
