light period & fertility

Anso
Hi everyone,
I’ve been off the pill since early August and this is my third real period (withdrawal bleeding doesn’t count). Each time it’s been super light: lasting two to three days, and I only need two or three tampons per day. In fact, I could’ve even waited a bit longer before changing them (sorry, TMI). My gynecologist mentioned there might be a connection with a thin uterine lining. Are there any other ladies who’ve had this issue and still managed to get pregnant, or does it really need to become a full, proper period first?

I had a too-thin uterine lining and didn't get pregnant. The first round with Utrogestan to thicken it up was pricey

    Hi Lien,
Thanks for your reply! Can I ask how many mm it was? I see a lot of variation in what’s considered thin. I know it’s 5mm for me.

    Hi Anso,

I had an ectopic pregnancy before and ended up with a healthy child. After the ectopic, my cycle had very little and short bleeding. Sometimes only 1.5 days. And the gynecologist said it could absolutely do no harm. I got pregnant in round 5 after the ectopic.

    Mine was also only 5mm
According to the OB-GYN it was on the thin side, but no disaster, so they let me struggle on my own for another half year before they prescribed Utrogestan.

Thanks A, hopefully it'll work out here too!
Lien, that's so sad that they let you continue like that first... I get so stressed about it, and then you know there's actually a solution out there. Could it be that the medication isn't good for you and has a lot of side effects or something?
