Unique tough short girl's name

KitaGuest ·
I'm 30 weeks pregnant with a little girl and we can't decide on a name..

We're looking for a short, tough girl's name that you don't hear often!

We already have some names but neither of us is convinced the right one is among them.

Anyone got some nice ideas?

Here's what they've come up with so far, so you get an idea of what we like:

Ruby
Mace
Lune
Mia
Ieva
Juno
Jila
Juna

Exciting! Here's what I think of the names above, followed by some ideas of my own:

Ruby - beautiful, quite classic. Works well in Dutch, but also in English.
Mace - not beautiful, sounds like a boy's name. Unique and tough though.
Lune - beautiful, but there will probably be confusion with Luna. Not really tough, but unique.
Mia - not really tough either, but very nice! Short and sweet.
Ieva - is it Ieva or Leva? For Ieva I'd write it as Iva. Then it's beautiful. Leva is not beautiful.
Juno - really cool, tough name. Nice!
Jila - not so nice. Don't like the pronunciation. I prefer Mila or Nila. A bit made up.
Juna - nice, but definitely not unique.

    Lovely names on your list!
I think Ruby sounds great, but it’s pronounced Ruubie, not Roebie.
I think Juno is really cool!
Lune too, and much nicer than Luna.

Other names that come to mind (maybe some have already been mentioned):
Nola, Jolie, Oona, Belle, Lilou, Milou, Nila, Ella, Kate, Nina, Loua.
