Kaatje/Caatje

My mom's name is Hendrika. If we have a girl, we'd really like to use it as a middle name. I think Kaatje is a cute shortening, but isn't Caatje a nicer spelling?

Other options that have crossed my mind are Kae and Kate. But since the middle names of my other kids also end in -tje (also named after someone), I think this fits best.

For a boy, it'll probably be Henri or Hendrik or something like that.

What do you all think?

    I think Kate and Kae are prettier than Kaatje.
    But since this is about a second name, the question really comes down to: Kaatje or Caatje? Since Hendrika starts with a K, I’d go with Kaatje.

    Then I'd definitely go with the K, it's more recognizable with your mom's name! Kaatje, nice.

    I personally find Kate nicer, but with your story I'd go for Kaatje.
    I think the spelling Kaatje is prettier than Caatje.

    Thanks for your input! We're really torn between Kaatje and Kate. With the NUB theory, it looks like a girl, but we'll get the definitive gender determination on Monday, which should make it easier to decide haha! But if it turns out to be a boy after all, we'll have to start over with naming...

    Just Kaat or Kate seems nicer to me.
    Caatje is special want doenaar not able. Sorry but it comes across like that.

    It's a girl and we've decided that her middle name (and also her work name hehe!) will be Kato!
