Used ovulation tests

Dear ladies,

Can someone give me some tips or advice? I'm on round 3 and thought I'd try ovulation tests so I'm sure when I'm most fertile. I started on Wednesday, September 30th, and test every day. On Sunday it was bright pink, and that evening I got cramps in my right groin. But the next day I had those cramps again in my left groin. That must have been my egg popping. I always feel those annoying little twinges. So I've been testing every day to see if the lines fade. Today is Wednesday, and I've been using the ovulation tests for exactly a week. Should the line get lighter now that I've ovulated, or do the lines stay faintly visible for me?

Would love to hear from you.

I’ve only used ovulation tests once, but with me, you always saw a faint line. It did fade, going from dark to a very faint line in the end.

@dma1985 An ovulation test always shows 2 lines, but they really need to be about the same darkness.

You always have a certain amount of LH in your body, which is why the line can sometimes be darker even though you haven't hit your peak yet. So it's not weird that your ovulation tests show that. Basically, you can stop testing once you get a positive ovulation test (the test line is as dark as the control line). After 24-48 hours, your egg will release, and then it's just a matter of waiting. Testing further is just a waste of money.

@dma1985 Do you have a picture of your ovulation test so we can take a look?

@dma1985 I'd say 4-10 is a clear peak because after that they become noticeably lighter again

I did some cleaning on Friday, October 2nd, and Sunday, October 4th should be good.

@dma1985 You'll ovulate 24-48 hours later. I think October 2nd might be too late, but October 4th seems perfect

Amai, such a beautiful test. Glad you're tracking your ovulation so well.
Oct 4 is perfect (and I'd do Oct 6 again just to be sure). We tried having sex on the day the line was clearest and also 2 days after.
But not always, because it shouldn't feel forced.

    Good luck with getting pregnant!

@an on Oct 6 was yesterday

    Yeah, peak on Oct 4th.

Thanks girls, I have to say that on October 4th it happened twice, my body was really into it, it felt so weird. Monday October 5th I did it twice too, my body suddenly had a huge craving for it, really very strange. Tuesday October 6th I didn't do anything at all and my desire was a bit less. Is it normal that it stays a bit sensitive during sex? I've had pain in my groin since Monday, mainly on the right side, I have stabbing pains and sometimes feel a warm glow. On the left I have those stabbing pains too but they are less frequent. Is that the egg that has ruptured and when will that feeling go away? And who else has hot flashes? I usually get them when I'm about to get my period or am on my period. But I'm getting them regularly now too, man, pff what a heat. It must be due to hormones.

    Greetings Daniëlle

Glad it's clear now, and you're very welcome! The intervals don't really matter in principle... the "best" is actually every day or even every two days, according to the hospital. Good luck with the rest, a long week awaits!

    Hi girls,

Yes, I'm really super happy with the positive test! I had just expected it a bit earlier. My period started on Sep 20, and according to the app, it suggested I should have been trying during the weekend of Oct 2-3. But reading your stories, it seems my egg probably didn't release until that Sunday, Oct 4, within 24-48 hours. So there's a good chance it happened on Monday, Oct 5. I always have a super regular cycle, 27-28 days, never late, never early. What were your first symptoms?

About a week after conception, I often get that unpleasant feeling of implantation. I really experienced this with my other three boys as painful and annoying. It was quite painful for about 2 weeks, right there in my vagina. I'm a bit scared of this, especially given the miscarriages I've had every time around week 6. I find the wait until the test really stressful, but especially the phase up to 13 weeks. Does anyone else feel this way?

Knoetje, congratulations! I see on your profile picture that you're 4 weeks along. So you're just pregnant. How are you feeling? Did you also have different symptoms like a bloated belly, pain in your groin, stabbing pains from your lower abdomen, or hot flashes?

    Best, Daniëlle

@Dma thank you so much! Indeed, not pregnant for that long yet. The symptoms are manageable. A bit of a bloated belly and tender breasts. Around my due date, I did have those menstrual cramp-like feelings. Last night, for the first time in a few days, I felt a bit nauseous while I was in the bath.

@dma1985 I actually didn’t have many symptoms during my two pregnancies, except for extreme nausea
  17. Susanna #18

@dma1985 42 weeks of nausea but still gained 20 pounds

    Hi ladies,

I wanted to share that I have a positive test in my hands today. I was supposed to get my period officially on Sunday, but I've been noticing all sorts of things in my body, and the two lines are unmistakably clear. May I join the June moms?

    Best, Daniëlle

    Congratulations then!
