My husband is suddenly totally into the name Jip (for a boy), and I have to say I think it's a nice name too. What do you all think?

    Nice, but I don't really think it fits a 40-year-old. But well, by then the name will probably fit him anyway!

    Jip is a lovely name. I considered it myself, but got some teasing comments saying his twin sister had to be called Janneke.

    I also think of Janneke right away. I'd probably go for Jim instead.

    A university lecturer I had had Jip as a first name... Honestly, we students used to joke about it quite a bit. As a parent, I'd be careful about choosing that name for that reason. Jip is a really cute name for a little one, but maybe hard to take seriously when they're older
