8 weeks pregnant and 2 large cysts

Hi! I had my first ultrasound today, almost 8 weeks (tomorrow). First of all, according to my calculations, I was a bit further along, but that’s probably normal. They also found two large cysts on my left ovary. She said they should go away on their own within 3 months. But I have the feeling they’ve been there for a while already. Before I got pregnant, I had severe periods and abdominal pain for a few months. Should I be worried about this or not? I’m not sure what to think, and the doctor just kept saying they should be gone after 3 months.
Greetings!

Did you mention that you already had some discomfort for that and think it’s coming from the cyst? If not, I’d suggest you do. I’d definitely discuss this, even if it’s just for your own peace of mind.

Hi Orchidea, thanks for your message. Yes, I told them that before I got pregnant I had heavy periods, abdominal pain, and bleeding between periods. And I asked then if that could be the cause. She said yes. But after that she kept saying they should be gone by 3 months. And she also said she would check them every month to see if they were growing. That was it, and actually when I left I only started to think a bit about what that meant and that they had probably been there for more than 3 months already. I've had quite a few problematic pregnancies and am now basically a bit stressed. It'll probably be nothing, but yeah, I thought that about my other pregnancies that went wrong too.

A friend of mine had the same thing. One the size of a tennis ball. Once your placenta starts working, they usually disappear due to the hormones!
