    I think he's beautiful too!

    Nice name
  4. MamaAsh #5

    Nice. Short and sweet.
  5. Anonymous Guest #6

    Old-fashioned
  6. Lou Guest #7

Yeah, old-school, but not ugly. Strong, short name.
  7. madelene #8

I think it's an ordinary name, no opinion on it, actually a pretty good name.
  8. MamaBaas #9

So beautiful! What I also find really lovely is Fia.
  9. Most15 #10

I also find him a bit old-fashioned. I think Lisa is nicer.
  10. Lijn #11

I'd go with Leah. And then pronounced in "his English" so it sounds the same.
  11. Jo Guest #12

    Yes, line, I totally agree!
  12. Benthe Guest #13

    Okay! Thanks for your opinions.
    I'm afraid Leah is mispronounced.
What do you think of Liah? Is it nicer than Lia?
We're actually more into simpler names, like "what you write is what you get." I don't know if I like adding an H when it's not really necessary.
I think the pronunciation is just so beautiful, but I'm worried people might find it old-fashioned.

If you think the name Lia is beautiful, then that’s your name, right? Don’t add any weird extras just to make it seem less ‘old-fashioned’... Leah might be okay, but you’ll have to correct people for a while... but once they know, you won’t have any ‘issues’ with it anymore...

Besides, ‘old-fashioned’ names are totally trendy again! So just do what you like!!

I agree with the above comment. You shouldn't care what others think of the name. If you have to take that into account, you'll never find a name.

Just do it! My kids also have old-fashioned names. Got some really nice reactions!
My kids are named Paula, Guus, Willem, Rein, and Kato (the first three from my first marriage, the last two from my second marriage; so both times I went for old and modern names!).

I don't think Lia is old-fashioned. I think Lia is a better choice than Leah or Liah. I've also seen Liya. What you find beautiful is beautiful!
  17. Steffi Guest #18

If you like the name, definitely go for it!
  18. Morag #19

My grandma's sister was named Lia! I don't hear him very often, actually think he's quite nice. As for spelling, I wouldn't change anything about it either. Leah or Liah would probably cause a lot of confusion about the spelling and pronunciation.

And well, as mentioned above, I wouldn't worry too much about what other people think of your favorite names. There are as many tastes as there are people. And the most important person for your baby is you
