On the pill, but still pregnant

Hi hi!
I’m on the pill, but I’ve had diarrhea and been throwing up for 2 months now, so I think it’s not working. For a few days now I’ve been getting all sorts of signs that I might be pregnant, and I just found out that tomorrow is my last pill and then I’ll have my break week. So I’m curious if I’ll get my period.. When can I test?

I'd just do a test, otherwise you'll keep going in circles, and after 2 weeks get your blood drawn.

That's awful! When did you have unprotected sex?

I've taken my last pill and am now waiting to see if I'll get my period. I'll take another test in a few days.

And yeah, I’ve had a lot of unsafe sex this month. Didn’t stop to think that the pill might not work.

But you do want to get pregnant, right? Since you've also signed up for a support group.

In that case, I wouldn't start the pill again and would start taking folic acid as soon as possible. And test a few times over the next week.

You can also get bleeding while on the pill if you turn out to be pregnant, so test anyway.

If you don't want a child yet, I'd use extra protection for the rest of the month when you have diarrhea and nausea. It's known that the pill is less reliable then, right?

I always said it doesn't matter now, maybe in 5 years. But right now it just feels so good. And honestly, yeah, everyone knows that. But I only really thought about it the day before yesterday when I started getting pregnancy symptoms...

Why don't you take a test?

Because I took the last pill yesterday. I think I'll need to have my period tomorrow. The test was still negative this morning..

Then I'd calmly wait for my period and then start doing ovulation tests. Keep in mind that it can take up to a year for your cycle to return to normal after stopping the pill.
