Few pregnancy symptoms

Hi everyone!

I'm opening a topic anyway, hoping my question reaches more women who have been pregnant before or have been pregnant for quite a while now.

I'm currently about 7 weeks pregnant and have my first ultrasound in two weeks. From the very beginning, I've had hardly any pregnancy symptoms. If everything goes well, I know I shouldn't complain at all and should be happy not to be constantly hanging over the toilet... But actually, I sometimes feel quite insecure because I barely notice anything.

Between 4 and 5 weeks, I occasionally had mild period-like cramps, but I haven't noticed much more than that... I have less appetite (I get full faster), but that could just as well be due to the hot weather.

All the other possible symptoms: sore, larger breasts, darker nipples or labia, nausea, fatigue, more discharge, better sense of smell, etc. I don't have any of that!

Is this relatable for you?

I could call my GP (I live in Belgium), but I'm not really stressed about worrying. It's more of a feeling of uncertainty, and I think she can't really change that anyway. I'm mainly hoping to find some reassurance here and for those two weeks to pass quickly!

Thank you!

    Good morning,

I relate to your story. I'm currently 6 weeks pregnant and have very few to no symptoms. Of course, I know I should be grateful, but it makes me feel quite insecure. I end up testing every day to make sure everything is still okay. That insecurity really isn't nice. Big hug, Bianca

Hi Bianca, it's nice that this resonates with you, but obviously not great that it makes you feel insecure too.
Is this your first pregnancy? And do you still have a long wait before the first ultrasound?
I try to stay positive by reminding myself that my niece and a friend also hardly had any symptoms. They're both moms now! Trying to enjoy it, even though it's hard.

    Ooo ladies, don't worry.
Enjoy the moments when you feel good.
During both my pregnancies, I felt great during those first weeks.
It only started to get rough after 10-12 weeks (and it was bad every time until the end of the pregnancy).
It's easier said than done, of course. I worried myself sick for 40 weeks during both pregnancies. It wasn't until the birth, when they turned out to be healthy, that I could really start enjoying it, hehe.
But I guess many future mothers can relate to that.
    Wishing you a lovely pregnancy!!

Hi An, thanks for your reply!
Wow seg, you still had a lot of discomfort until the end of the pregnancy... I wouldn't expect that anymore!! So I'll follow your advice and try to enjoy it.
When you're pregnant, I think every woman is indeed anxious. And once the baby is here, you're anxious again!

I'm 18 weeks now and besides band pain, I don't have any discomfort anywhere else! Enjoy it, I'd say!!

I had pretty much all the symptoms there are. Nauseous all day, vomiting, tired, sore breasts, etc. I was told at the due date ultrasound that the baby had been dead for 2 weeks. So symptoms don't mean anything at all! Just enjoy your pregnancy, unless you suddenly start losing blood—that would have been the only reason for me to contact the midwife, regardless of how much.

This is so relatable, and I'm already over 16 weeks along myself. I had absolutely no symptoms except for some tiredness. After 6-7 weeks, I had occasional bouts of nausea, but they were mild, and sometimes tender breasts, but that was about it. I still don't really feel pregnant because I haven't felt my baby yet. My belly is starting to show, so that's how I know. So don't worry, you don't need to have a mountain of symptoms to be pregnant. Enjoy it, who knows, it might come yet... Good luck with your ultrasound in two weeks. It's unfortunately still uncertain in the first trimester, so just have to get through this time and wait.

Thanks for your replies! It's so sweet of you to reassure me. The fatigue has set in now, and sometimes there are also waves of nausea! Luckily, it's not too bad yet.

Mamsie92, oh my, that's really tough. That you had to go through something like that. Big hug!!

Thanks so much, Lisa V. I’ve fortunately been able to process everything well from the start. I’ve just come to look at pregnancy in a completely different way. Symptoms don’t mean anything, and an early ultrasound is pointless. At 7 weeks, everything was perfect for me—a beautiful baby with a good heartbeat. The dating scan was completely off.
Stress is only harmful anyway, and you never know what nature has in store, so it’s better to just enjoy the pregnancy to the fullest. Let things come to you naturally, and of course, if you feel uneasy or worried, call your midwife.
I definitely don’t want to scare you, because things only go wrong in a very small percentage of cases. Enjoy your pregnancy—it’s and remains something truly magical and special, no matter how it unfolds. And especially enjoy the fact that you have no symptoms. I hope I’ll be spared from symptoms in a future pregnancy too

Mamsie92, I can understand that. Everyone worries during pregnancy, but after a miscarriage or premature birth, etc., you can't just carefree enjoy it anymore.
I'm managing well, thanks to your responses, to wait for the ultrasound as relaxed as possible. I'm so curious!
Hopefully, getting pregnant goes smoothly when you want to, Mamsie92, and you have few or no complaints.
