Community around ovulation

Hi!
If my expected ovulation day is Sunday/Monday, when is the best time to have sex before and after that, and how often? I keep reading so many different tips online. Has anyone heard/gotten medical advice they’d like to share?

    How is the sperm quality? With lower sperm quality, it's recommended to have intercourse every other day. I would do it every day starting from a positive ovulation test until the day after ovulation.

    Having sex every other day should be enough since sperm can live for a while. So I’d suggest doing it on the day you get a positive ovulation test and the day after ovulation. The egg can still be fertilized up to 24 hours after ovulation.

    Isn't it true that his sperm quality decreases over time (a bit)?

    Yeah, they say it doesn't matter as long as there are enough sperm, but if you don't know, I'd do it every other day. Sperm lasts a long time, so there's more than enough.

    They say to just lie there for a bit after sex so the sperm have enough time. Otherwise, I wouldn't really know. I'd like to know too, because I'm already in round 20...

    Expected ovulation? Do you mean from an app? That’s not always very reliable. Sometimes your ovulation is a bit later, sometimes a bit earlier. I’d recommend using ovulation tests for this. You can have intercourse every other day, or even every two days. Your egg has 24-48 hours after a positive ovulation test to release.

    @orchidea no, you should never rely 100% on an app, but with a regular cycle, you know when to expect your ovulation.

    Congratulations! How many times did you have sex and did you stay lying down afterwards? Any specific positions or just enjoyed it?

    Hey, just followed the advice and had sex every other day around my ovulation. Used an app for that. I did lie down for about 10 minutes afterwards, but I usually do that anyway. So this time it worked!

    Hi, we've been trying for about 6 months now, but unfortunately, it hasn't worked out yet. That's quite disappointing. I was also wondering how often you should have sex.

    I did it every 2 to 3 days during my egg week and I'm pregnant. So, not every day, it's not good for the sperm, I've heard.
