laundry detergent

Do you all wash baby clothes first with a neutral detergent, or do you just use your regular detergent?
I hear so many different things from people around me, so I’d love to know what you do.

I use my regular detergent and never use fabric softener. It’s always worked well for my kids. My sister-in-law switched to Neutral after a week because my nephew’s skin reacted badly, and she hasn’t had any issues since.

I think it really depends on your baby.
I was talking about it with my husband today: his sons (from a previous marriage) could handle everything,
    including wool and synthetic fabrics.
I think you'll soon notice if you need to adjust your laundry detergent.
I still need to figure that out myself too.

I've washed everything here with neutral detergent and will keep doing that until the bottles run out. After that, I'll just try regular laundry detergent; my daughter can handle everything, so hopefully this baby can too.

Washed everything with Neutral, you never know how your baby will react to all those chemicals, and I'd feel so bad if your newborn immediately got a rash from the detergent. I have to be honest, I still wash baby clothes and towels with Neutral, and only our own clothes with regular detergent.

I'll also wash everything with neutral detergent just to be safe. As has already been said, it seems so unfair if there's an allergic reaction.
