Hi. You can search online, but I’d really just call your doctor and ask what it could be. Let them know you’re worried. They’ll probably do another test anyway. I think two common reasons are being further along than expected or possibly having twins.
Hi Lola, wow, that must have been quite a shock...
They told me at first that my levels were too high too... I didn’t even know I was pregnant yet and already had 400,000... They also said either you're further along than expected or it's a multiple pregnancy... In my case, it could also have been a molar pregnancy given my medical history.
Now I found out I was already 3 months along and today they checked the high levels again.
Hopefully your levels are stable now, girl, and if you're feeling unsure, just give your GP a quick call to see if it's serious.
Definitely let me know once you know your levels, girl!!
Good luck and enjoy yourself as much as possible!!!
hi lola, that's already good news, right! if it already looked good, then the rest will probably go well too! and hopefully the other tests are good too! but the nuchal translucency and nasal bone are already important.. so you can enjoy it a bit and not stress too much about the values! definitely keep your fingers crossed and your baby is perfectly on schedule, that already does a lot he
hi lola, i found out i was pregnant at 10 weeks; our little one was already almost 6cm by then (that story is somewhere under a topic, i think it's near the topic about diarrhea, it was a whole conversation with ster). at 12 weeks i had to go back and it had already doubled... and the OB-GYN said she could tell 80% what it was she said it was a girl, but at 16 weeks they could only see it properly, and she was lying with her legs closed at 20 weeks we had the big scan and got to see it, and the OB-GYN was right, it was a girl now at 31 and a half weeks, our girl was already almost 42cm long and weighed just under 1.800kg. i stopped working from when i was 5 months because i couldn't get adjusted work, so they let me leave the workplace early... i worked in healthcare and had to lift paralyzed people often, and the OB-GYN said i couldn't do that anymore because i kept getting pain down my legs...
i'm now on sick leave and around dec 6 my maternity leave starts, about 6 weeks before the due date.. until 8 weeks after the birth
so if your little one is in a good position, can you see the gender? thumbs up for you, let me know what you get??,
Oh, I just realized I wasn't logged in, oopsie. Well, it's good that the ultrasound was fine, but it was quite nerve-wracking, I must say. Hopefully, things stay stable now. X
I happened to read an article about this yesterday saying that hCG levels can vary a lot from woman to woman and from pregnancy to pregnancy. Luckily, nothing unusual was found on the ultrasound!
Hi Lola, wow, what a hassle, right, girl!!
Don't stress too much, it's never good..
Just wait and see... it's good that there's no enlarged placenta!!
They don't always see a twin either, so don't worry too much yet, girl, maybe there's still a hidden one..
My midwife used to say that too, that they see a twin but then still only notice it at birth.
Well, girl, I'm cheering super hard for you!!!!
Let me know next week!!
Hi Lola, that could very well be that that other OB-GYN has better equipment... ours also often changes rooms to use a different machine...
oh at 16 weeks if she's in a good position they can usually see it fine.. we got an 80% confirmation at 12 weeks and at 16 weeks she was in a bad position but at 20 weeks we got a definite answer and it matched the 80% from when I was 12 weeks
yes some babies lie very far back and are harder to see...
it's possible to never rule it out completely but still better to just see what that guy says..
I can totally believe that 1 would turn your whole world upside down haha if you then suddenly have to deal with 2 it's a bit to swallow of course but it will still be embraced with lots of love
has your OB-GYN already given any explanation if nothing is found and the hCG hormone stays too high? or if it could really be bad for the little one as long as he/she is growing well and nothing unusual is seen..
keep cheering for your girl!! good that the little one is jumping around cheerfully in your belly, fun to see he...
Hi Lola,
that’s so frustrating that your gynecologist didn’t pass on the nuchal translucency scan results!! But if the measurements are okay, that’s already great news, right, girl!! It’s a pity that your gynecologist doesn’t even mention whether this could indicate a syndrome (which you already know??). You should definitely bring it up with him/her.. you have the right to be properly informed, don’t you!
I’m glad your baby is doing well in there.. then you’ve got such a cheeky little one who doesn’t want to show anything, hehe.. now just wait another two weeks and hope that your hCG levels go down!!
