How do I know when I can test..?

Hello dear moms,

We're trying for a third baby, and we're now in round 2. I started taking ovulation tests right away because I have an irregular cycle. I did the same with the oldest two.

Last month I had a 37-day cycle with ovulation on cycle day 23, and exactly 14 days later I got my period.

But now I'm already on cycle day 32 and still haven't had a positive ovulation test. Last month I really had a clear positive... maybe on the 14th or 15th? See photo

How do I know when I can take a pregnancy test? I think this is going to be more of a guessing game...

Has anyone else here had trouble finding their ovulation?

Even July 14th and 15th are nowhere near as dark as the control line. Could it be that you didn't ovulate? Have you experienced that before?

I also didn't find them that dark at all, so it seems unlikely that it was one of those days. As far as I know, I always had ovulation..

And you always test with the same brand?

Indeed, it's possible that your body skips a cycle, meaning you might not ovulate. Your LH tests are all still negative. It's also possible that you'll still ovulate despite your long cycle. It's best to wait and see, or keep testing. Pay attention to your body; you'll usually recognize your fertile days by changes in discharge, cramps, etc.

Yeah, I always test with the same one. But doesn't ovulation lead to your period? Well, I'll just wait and see, I guess... annoying this

@mamavan2 I’ve also had a cycle without ovulation with menstruation; it’s just much less intense.

Ah okay, I'll just wait and see. I'll try a test on Sunday.

@mamavan2 that sounds exciting! Keep us posted, okay?

Still no positive test or period... but I do get occasional painful period cramps (for about 2 weeks now).
