Ovulation doubt

Hi everyone,
I've been off birth control since January to prepare for trying to conceive. I got a regular cycle right away, which sometimes varies by 1 or 2 days. I've also been keeping an eye on my cervical mucus. It does appear, but it's not extreme, just seems normal. The first time we started trying, we didn't use an ovulation test. Now, for the next attempt, we used the Clearblue ovulation test (for 4 days), but I only get a blinking smiley (for 6 days, then the tests run out). I'm starting to worry that I'm not ovulating. After all, I've been off birth control for 6 months already.
Please do share your findings with me.

I think you haven't found your ovulation yet. I'd buy one from Action and then test every day after your period until you find your ovulation.

    Good luck!

If you're regular, there's no need to test at all. Around 14 days before your period is due is when you ovulate. You need an ovulation to be in sync.

Assuming everything works as it should.

Generally, that's true. I had the same experience with my first three pregnancies, never tested, and got pregnant right away. With the fourth pregnancy, I started using ovulation tests after six months and found out I ovulated a bit later than I thought. Without the tests, I would have missed it. And that month I got pregnant (probably by chance). So you could test for a month to check how your cycle works exactly. But of course, nothing is mandatory.
