2nd baby, a boy

I'm posting this anonymously because I've been on the forum for years and most people know me as a sweet and loving person.
I'm pregnant with baby #2. Had my 20-week scan yesterday and it's a boy. We already have a 1.5-year-old girl.
Although I'm happy the baby is healthy because that's what matters most, and I'm grateful we got to conceive. (Seriously ladies, I thank God on my bare knees) and I know some will say "I'm glad you're pregnant."
Do I feel a bit disappointed that there won't be a second girl?
I don't have a good relationship with the male side of the family. So I think that's why. I can't talk about it with my husband; he says "thanks a lot..."
A second girl was just born in our street. I notice it still affects me a bit.

What advice do you have for me?

I’m also sure that I already love the baby.

Oh girl, you might have a slight preference for a gender, but I think you'll eventually get used to the idea of expecting a healthy boy. You'll love seeing him just as much as you love your daughter; I'm sure of it. I even think boys cling to their moms more than girls do. Give it time to get used to it, and you'll find that you'll fall in love with him just as much as you did with your other daughter.

Thank you for your reply. I also think I’ll love him a lot, and if he becomes a mama’s boy, that could even be nice. My daughter really takes after her dad.

Boys are really heeeeeel fun! I have a son of 7 myself and am now pregnant with a daughter. I think that having no good family bond with the men in your family can and should be completely overlooked. And boys are often really mama's little ones, at least mine are, lovely! He still comes to cuddle with me every morning
Let it sink in, it will surely turn out fine.

Ah, a little disappointment is okay. You always have to say goodbye to “the other option” a bit. In this case, the second daughter who isn’t coming (yet). It’ll pass, and I wouldn’t feel guilty about it either.

I was also convinced I'd be having a boy It took a while before I realized it was a girl

What supportive responses. Thank you all so much. It'll definitely work out. I've decided to go to the city alone to buy boys' clothes in advance.

Here’s another mom who was a bit 'disappointed' at first.
We already have a daughter, and last year I found out I was pregnant with a boy.
Of course, I welcomed him, but secretly I had hoped for a second girl. Even after he was born, that feeling didn’t completely go away. He’s now 3.5 months old, and now he starts laughing at you, showing more interaction, and my love for him is really growing.
In the end, I’m definitely going to love them both equally.

I totally relate. It's the opposite for me though. We have a 1.5-year-old daughter and are expecting another girl, which felt like a big disappointment to me because I really, really wanted a little boy. I already love her with all my heart and can't wait for her to arrive, but I do feel quite sad that it's not a boy.

nice that some people recognize it.

I totally get it. When the second one turned out to be a boy too, I was still a bit disappointed because I’d really wanted a girl for the first one. But the disappointment wasn’t as big the second time. I’m crazy about both of them though. And I was open to having a boy too, but my preference for a girl just had a certain reason in my head.

Thanks for replying. I’ve noticed that I’m getting used to the idea now.
Scoring a cute outfit as a birth outfit (I didn’t look at the price, it was just something I really liked)
    has also helped.
I’ve been diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I realize I really want to take great care of my little one and give him the best Everything’s coming along well here, ladies.

Thank you so much for all the kind words.
