We're looking for a tough, preferably short, not very common name for our second son.

    Fez: I think the spelling is nice, but Fez is a type of headwear. And it might be pronounced as "ves" quickly.

    Diaz: My first impression is a girl's name, thanks to Cameron Diaz.
    But it can also be for boys.
    Preference: Diaz

    Actually, exactly what was said above. Can't choose either way because I wouldn't do either of them for that reason.

    I agree with the above comments.

    Maybe Dio is another option?
    I think it sounds more masculine than Diaz.
