Society test

Hi,
I have a so-called 'societal test' on Monday. Do you know what that is and how should I prepare for it? I think it's not too bad, but I'm still quite nervous, I realize. Not just the test itself, but also the result.
Greetings, Iris

What does that exactly mean? ;-)

You can't really prepare for the "societal test," just be relaxed.
I know it, if all goes well you had intercourse the night before.
Then a bit of mucus is taken from the cervix (you won't feel anything, really).
The mucus is checked to see if there are enough moving sperm, if so then it's good.

If not, then they will investigate further options, e.g., IUI or IVF or ICSI, but this test result is placed alongside the Orienting Fertility Examination.. the so-called OFE.. good luck and be relaxed towards a miracle for you

Within 3 hours after intercourse, we have to do that test already, as I understood from my doctor. Quite an uncomfortable thought... Glad you don't feel anything! As for the (possible) result, it's clearer to me now, thanks Lotus.

    No problem, Iris
Yeah, it's really uncomfortable, but hey, everything for a beautiful miracle, right?
Let us know how it went if you'd like

I think I'll get those tests too. Do they always do this when you start a fertility treatment? I always feel uncomfortable lying in that stirrup with my legs up with a stranger doctor. I guess they don't see any evidence of having had sex before, right? I think that's already been absorbed or washed away. I think they only see something under the microscope

Hey Mila, if you're in the process, do you think you'll get it too?

Hi Lotus! Yes, I have an appointment with the OB/GYN/fertility specialist in two weeks. It was originally scheduled for April but got cancelled due to Corona, of course. So it's quite nerve-wracking. How are you doing?
  8. *Lotus* #9

oh yes corona has caused a lot of trouble for many ladies. Good luck with your conversation. Things are going well here despite the circumstances. I'll follow along and offer you some tips here and there. I'd really like to do the management. You sometimes see such terrible things happen. I've emailed the owner a few times but so far no success story.
Personally, I've experienced everything in the medical world, but eventually got pregnant naturally. Funny, isn't it? I had a healthy daughter in November 2018. Originally due in early December 2018, but due to gestational diabetes, labor was induced earlier.
If you have any more questions, shoot. See where I can support you or give advice. I've been active on Brabbels since 2013.

Well, it's over now. Yee-haw! And it's a positive result, how nice. Of course, it's no guarantee for 'success', but a nice first confirmation. I found the test itself quite unpleasant, but luckily I don't have to do it again right now.

Great, Iris! Now get to work on yourselves What exactly was unpleasant about the test? Was it the research itself or something else? Did you mention it to the researcher?
Hopefully, you'll have a beautiful new story soon Good luck.

Yes, the test itself. I'm just always sensitive down there, especially around my ovulation day. So that kind of test isn't very pleasant. The result made up for it though. Now I just need to keep trying and hope it'll be a success soon. Thanks for caring!

They should give you the admin role if you've been here for so long! But very kind of you! How did you eventually get pregnant?

Iris, glad the news is positive How does this test work exactly, if I may ask?
  13. Mila Guest #14

That's so sweet! And are you going for another daughter now? Did you do something different that month or pay attention to something specific?
  14. *Lotus* #15

Nope, I'm not going for more kids. We're done having children.
I did the candle yoga exercise that goes from week 4 to week 25 because it's not allowed during your period.
And I had a detox course.
